Yes the TDLR Journeyman Exam will change format but it will not change questions.
Study the exact same things.
If you are still needing help passing the TDLR Journeyman or Master Exams I am at 5008 Fuqua Wednesday 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday 9 am to Noon.

REPEAT:
PASS THE TDLR JOURNEYMAN EXAM.
Remember the page numbers in the NEC are at the bottom of the page and start "70- # # #". The 70- is because the NEC is NFPA Article 70. Or another thing to that can be said is NFPA Article 70 is the National Electrical Code. NFPA has a lot of Articles. Electrical Safety Codes are NFPA 70- E.
1. Learn the Contents and Index. I recommend LOOK fast not read pages 70-2 to 70-8 four times. Fifth time read slow and carefully. That is the minimum.
2. Every question is a trick question. PSI / TDLR requires us that write the test to have three choices for answers that is very close and they use the word "probable" and only exactly word for word answer. If you pick an answer that sounds right it is 75% chance it is wrong.
3. Every question is written by a Master trying to trick another Master and of course they have over 30 most cases 40 years experience. You have to look up each question on find the correct answer word for word.
4. Ohms law questions are three resistors in Series or Parallel and the way to work it is straight out of the Ugly's book. Practice working out Ohms law before the test. We will give you the formulas for the test.
5. The Voltage drop problems are either Three Phase or Single Phase right out of the Ugly's book. Practice before sitting for the test. We will give you the formulas for the test.
6. Drawings. It is a Commercial Building asking very simple questions. Look at the Circuit number and Panel Schedule. When asked about emergency lights count every type just not one type.
7. Grounding. We suck bad. In the Candidate Bulletin we mention nothing about Grounding because we have a bunch of as****es that don' think we should tell you to study it. Know well the following. Use the four times Look and One time Read method.
8. T250.66 page 70-149. Watch using questions using both Copper & Aluminum in it.
9. T250.102 c 1 page 152. Every close to T250.66 but different. Watch using questions using both Copper & Aluminum in it.
10. T250.122 page 70-158.
11. Article 250. 50 and Article 250.52 Know it.
12. Article 250.118
13. We (the Exam Committee) are a very lazy stupid bunch on that Exam Writing Committee. PSI asked us if they could put Journeyman Questions from the Sign Installers Exam or Appliance Installers exam or Residential Exam or the Industrial Exam. SOOO look for questions from:
14. Article 422 Appliances
15. Article 600 Signs
16. Article 680 Pools
Calculations Part to TDLR Journeyman Exam.
17. Conductor sizing is very hard. Read Article 110.14 A, B. and C. Page 70-65. Read that then call me or message me to explain how this Article governs T310.16. It goes into T310.15 C 1; T310.15B 1 1 and T310.B 12 on page 70-185. Watch out for Dwelling's Services because it is different wire sizing T310.12 A on page 70-183.
18. FOR GOD's SAKE GroundED Conductor is WHITE Article 200 page 70-76 to 70-78. GroundING conductors can be Green, Green or Green with a yellow stripe. Article 250 starting on page 70-137 to 70-165.
19. Conduit Fill. Look at Table 1 Chapter 9 page 70-715. It rules The Tables on pages 70-716 to 70-719. If there is OVER 2 Conductors use 40%.
20. Boxes T314.16 A are every type or box made. The Table is for when all the conductors are the same size. T314.16 B is the Volume Allowance to size boxes when using different size conductors. Call me or text me to explain if you get confused. Boxes for bigger Conduit follow the x6 rule for Angle pulls and x8 for Straight pulls.
See Article 314.28A 1 2 page 70-200.
If you are still needing help passing the TDLR Journeyman or Master Exams our full staff with Art Surette and Nelson Flores are at 5008 Fuqua Wednesday & Thursday 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday 9 am to Noon.
