I'm focusing on hymn studies this year with my k-8 students. There are so many wonderful, favorite hymns, but as I can only get through 7-8 in a school year, I'd like to focus on ones my students are most likely to come across at any church they might go to.

Now is the perfect time to schedule fall music lessons. I love meeting students where they are and helping grow their confidence. I'm familiar with several different common method series from Faber to Alfred to Suzuki, plus we always try to find a song each student loves and wants to practice.

Regardless of instrument, each lesson focuses on technique, ear training, sight reading, theory, and musicality - yes even the young ones! We don't use all of those fancy words of course, but music is truly a whole body and senses experience that the brain thrives on.

As I have been performing in various ensembles and solo/accompaniment work for 23 years, I bring a wealth of real world application and help kids have fun in the process. I teach ages 4 up in piano and violin, and ages 10+ for bassoon. Adults of any ability level are welcome too. Ask me about sibling bundles!

For those wondering, I teach out of my house. The music room is immediately when you enter the front door. I sanitize between each student and everyone wears masks inside. Parents are welcome to sit in on the first lesson at the couch right next to the piano. The backyard has a playset if parents need to occupy other children during the lesson.
