We are excited to announce our new Assistant Band Director, Hannah Kirby!
Hannah Kirby is excited to begin her first year at Dickinson High School and her second year in education. Prior to joining Dickinson ISD, Ms. Kirby served as an Assistant Band Director at Irons Junior High School in Conroe ISD, where she taught two sub-non-varsity concert bands and a beginner band class.
Ms. Kirby graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Music degree and teaching certification. During her undergraduate studies, she served as Drum Major of the Bearkat Marching Band for two seasons. She also performed with the SHSU Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. McInturf and the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Dan, serving as principal French horn during her time at Sam Houston State.
Throughout college, Ms. Kirby had the privilege of working with the Tomball Memorial High School marching band as a visual technician. As a performer, she marched for three summers with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and remains a passionate advocate for the marching arts. Most recently, she taught with Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps and will serve on the Blue Stars visual staff this summer.
Ms. Kirby is thrilled to take on this new role and become a part of the Dickinson community!

We are excited to announce our new Color Guard Director, Clarisa Centamore!
Clarisa began her color guard career at Klein Collins High School in 2014 and has been involved in the activity as a performer and educator ever since. She has worked at many schools in the Houston area, holding positions as a technician and assistant director. Clarisa began her teaching career at Cypress Ridge as an assistant director and later worked at Tomball, Cypress Springs, North Shore, and Ridge Point. She later became the color guard director at Morton Ranch High School and most recently at Stratford High School.
Clarisa marched with Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps from 2015–2017 and then went on to march with Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in 2018 and 2019. During that time, she also participated in multiple independent winter guards in the Houston area, including Redemption, Axis, and Undaunted, where she currently serves as the lead technician and continues to teach on weekends during her free time. She also spent a summer teaching color guard at Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps.
In addition to color guard, Clarisa pursued her passion for Early Childhood Education and taught Pre-K for three years at a private school. She has always loved teaching and sharing her passion with the younger generation. Watching students become excited and light up when they learned something new was one of the most fulfilling experiences of her life.
When she’s not teaching or spinning, you can find her enjoying outdoor activities with her partner and pets. This will be her 9th year teaching color guard, and she is super excited get to the year started with Color Guard camp next Monday-Thursday (June 1-4) from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM!
