Eid Mubarak to all!

Asalamu Alaykum dear brothers and sisters,

As we approach the blessed day of Eid, our community is preparing to gather for Eid Salat, acts of worship, and remembrance of Allah. Eid is a day of gratitude, unity, and returning to Allah after a month of fasting and spiritual discipline.

Our hearts are heavy with grief as we witness the immense suffering and oppression affecting many of our brothers and sisters, particularly in Lebanon and Iran, and other parts of the Muslim world. In such moments, the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (as) guide us to balance worship, dignity, and compassion.

Our tradition teaches that even in times of grief, the acts of worship of Eid should not be abandoned. Historical narrations mention that after the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), his son Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (as) still attended the Eid prayer, preserving the unity and public symbols of Islam. At the same time, the spirit of the Ahlul Bayt (as) encourages believers to remain sensitive to the suffering of the oppressed.

Therefore, as a community, we will proceed with Eid Salat and the recommended amaal, and InshAllah after the prayer we will gather to remember the sacrifice and message of Imam Husain ibn Ali, whose stand forever symbolizes solidarity with the oppressed by reciting Ziyarat-e-Ashura (after the Eid Sermon).

In light of the current tragedies affecting our brothers and sisters, we humbly request all members of the community to observe Eid with simplicity and dignity:
• Please avoid extravagant celebrations or large festive gatherings.
• Keep clothing and outward celebration modest and simple.
• Consider dedicating time on Eid to dua, charity, and remembrance of the oppressed.
• Families are encouraged to recite Ziyarat-e-Ashura or Ziyarat-e-Warith and pray for relief for those suffering around the world.

This approach allows us to preserve the sanctity of Eid as an act of worship, while also expressing our compassion and solidarity with the oppressed.

Assalamu Alaikum,

We strongly condemn the escalation of war and recent US illegal and unprovoked military attacks against the sovereign nation of Islamic Republic of Iran, and oppose all actions that endanger innocent civilian lives and push the world closer to wider conflict and threaten global peace.

The Qur’an teaches that the sanctity of human life is paramount: “Whoever kills a soul… it is as if he had slain all mankind” (Qur’an 5:32).

No political objective justifies the suffering and loss inflicted upon civilians, as already evident in the attacks last night where more than 80 young girls are reported to have been killed as a result of US backed attack hitting a girls’ school in Southern Iran. Recent strikes have heightened fears of a wider regional conflict, placing more innocent civilians at risk and increasing uncertainty across the world.

Peace cannot be achieved through violence, and lasting security cannot be built upon destruction. We call for an immediate de-escalation, diplomacy, cessation of military aggression, and a sincere return to diplomacy and peaceful resolution.

We pray for justice, peace and protection of civilian life, and call upon all people of conscience to raise awareness and their voices against such acts of aggression.
