What’s in your cup?

You're holding a cup of coffee and someone accidentally bumps into you, causing it to spill everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?

"Because someone bumped into me."

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. If there had been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

So, when life shakes you up, whatever is inside you will come out.

It's easy to pretend everything's fine until you're shaken.

So, we have to ask ourselves, "What's in my cup?"

When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy? Gratitude? Peace? Humility? Anger? Bitterness? A victim mentality? A tendency to quit?

Remember LIFE gives you the cup; YOU choose what to fill it with!

Last Tuesday I had the amazing opportunity to return to the University of Houston campus and present The Power of Positive Leadership workshop to the Student Affairs staff. It was such a joy to be back on campus after all these years! I loved meeting and engaging with the staff. It was an honor to share Jon Gordon powerful and transformational leadership principles and practices with them. Thank you for hosting me!
