Qualified applicants are child survivors of sexual abuse up to the age of 16 who can function in a camp environment (may include outdoor and indoor activity like swimming, canoe, rock climbing, etc). Finishing touches on the Little's, Middle's, Tween's, Teen's, & the Mama Lions In-Training's care packages are being made. They will soon be delivered! Here's a sneak peak but no full reveal as we don't want to spoil the surprise for the girls. The "we care" ๐ packages will be delivered from a safe social distance. With, as rumor has it, there may even be a camp song๐ถ or two echoing down their lane.๐ถ๐ถ

Calling All Mama Lions & CVTI Supporters๐ฃ๐๐๐๐โค๏ธ
Whew! What a whirlwind couple of months! It has taken us a while to (word of the year alert) PIVOT, but here is the news we have all been waiting for. The answer to the question, "What can we do, now that Camp Victory Texas 2020 has been postponed until further notice?" With the entire world working on solutions to the every day work and school, to creating ways to keep everyone well and still be the social beings we are, we hope to be able to announce some sort of gathering date for CVTI 2020 as soon as possible. At this point we do not know that it can be a camp as such, but even an amazing celebratory 10-year-anniversary gala would be fabulous in so many ways. It will still take a lot of creativity, calls, arrangements, and love to get done. If the need for gloves and masks persists, we may well keep it outside, and have a Fall Harvest Festival of some sort. Keep your thinking hats on, together with your masks!
Right now, we are creating a care package for each Camp Victory girl. This includes all of the Little Buddies from small superheroines through Buddies in Training. We feel that we are late in the timeline to do this but better late than never. That said, weโre trying to spring into action and make this happen now, especially with school being officially overโฆ
What is needed:
~ Donations - covering costs for mailings, care package items, and toiletries. We have had some families reach out with specific needs from clothing to books for boredom. We are guessing that the hardship of CV-19 is hitting all, so would also like to send a grocery gift card. Please consider asking folks to send a check or to give via the link on our website. ~ Phone calls/texts: Those who can make calls to be sure that we have a good street address to bring those to (yes, we want to BRING them if possible, or to mail if they are now out of our region).
~ Ideas: Whoโs got cool ideas for whatever else we can we include in the packages? Who can order, shop, and deliver items to a central location? (Location TBD, especially since Katrinaโs house is now on the market! Please find the listing and โค it.)
~ Package assembly. Need a few hands, hopefully whose hands have been in one family/workspace to assemble packages, some of which may be for mailing/ delivery.
Of course we would take all precautions and best practices needed for wellness!!
Mama Lion Rozi Sabanoglu Goldberg has fashioned heart-themed masks for each girl that will be added to each package as well.
Camp 2020 may have had to be postponed but we can certainly send our Mama Lion love - CVTI caring to the Little Buddies! Yes, we can!!
In the meantime, please know that we know that most if not all of us are struggling with the pandemic in our own ways. Remember that we are bound together and finely woven. We will get through this and we definitely want to know what you need and/or if you want to or can help others. Itโs what we do!

What is Camp Victory?
Camp Victory Texas, Inc. is the non-profit organization founded to make a genuine difference in young survivorsโ lives. Thousands of girls are sexually abused every year in the United States. It is, unfortunately, all around us and profoundly changes the lives of those girls and future-women and their loved and loving ones. The goal is unique: create a safe environment in the form of a three-day camp where survivors can play and sing, know that they are neither alone nor responsible for what happened to them, and to develop self-affirming behavior along with appropriate and effective social coping skills.
The Heart of Camp Victory
At the heart of Camp Victory are dedicated volunteers. Your efforts help educate the community about the issues of child sexual abuse. Training is provided yearly to all adult volunteers. Adults are carefully screened, including a thorough background security check. At Camp Victory, adults are known as Big Buddies and girls are Little Buddies. Adults who successfully complete the training and participate in a camp are known as Mama Lions. Hear us ROAR!
