Parents please ensure your child brings his/ her instrument, red book and their field trip medical form( was sent via mail). ☀️☀️

We are looking forward to starting off the year strong and we want to make this a fun experience for our Queens Hornets. Students should bring their instruments, music binders, red book and pencil. Students who play a school owned instrument should bring their mouthpieces, mallets/ drum sticks.

It’s time for Summer band! ☀️🎺🥁

The Queens Hornet Band performed at the 7th grade football game yesterday and we had a BLAST! The kids had a lot of fun and sounded great as we helped cheer on our Hornet Football Team to victory over Southmore! If you missed this one, join us next week when we play for the 8th graders on Tuesday!

Hey everyone, the Queens Intermediate Band is running a fundraiser! We're not selling any stuff nobody wants that's too expensive, we're just accepting donations. No amount is too small or too large, so if you've got a few bucks to spare, consider throwing a few of them our way! All the money raised goes to support our students and their excellence in band!

We will explain the fundraiser and Parent Square, talk about the Instrument Insurance Plan, our class structure, and hopefully answer any questions you might have. Summer Band Camp starts Monday for all Band, Choir, and Orchestra Students! It will be from 8-11 in the morning, and on Friday, we're going to the La Porte Wave Pool! It's going to be a lot of fun, so bring your instruments, bring your friends, and lets play some music together!

Please don't forget that all the fundraising materials are due back on Wednesday! Please collect any orders or money and make sure to get those packets turned in! We can't be successful without support from the community!

On Thursday, August 31st, we will be having an information meeting for current students and parents here at Queens from 5-6 PM! We will be going over the fundraiser, calendar, grading, and a lot of important information about the band program here at Queens. If you have any questions, need a band shirt, or just want to meet the directors here, please attend this meeting. We will have a limited amount of prizes and pizza for the people who come!

This week, the Queens Honor Band and Advanced Band participated in the UIL Concert and Sightreading Festival at Channelview High School. The kids did an amazing job and I am super proud to announce that both groups won a Sweepstakes award! Way to be awesome!

On Saturday, 33 students from Queens Intermediate went to Bondy to compete in the Region Band Auditions, and 17 of them came home with an award! These kids have been working so hard coming to sectionals and practicing for the last 10 weeks, and all their efforts paid off when they successfully completed their auditions!

These kids worked really hard on some very difficult music for a long time, and we're so proud of what you were able to accomplish.
