Summer camp season is officially underway!
Today was day one of our 2026 Summer Program and our campers jumped right into hands-on learning and fun. They explored nature with the Houston Audubon Society through tree rubbings and lessons about trees, cooled off with water play, created projects in needlecraft camp, and challenged themselves in chess.
The energy, curiosity, and excitement were everywhere! And we're just getting started! This is only Week 1, and we'll be here all summer long making memories, building skills, and having fun together.

There’s nothing better than hearing how much our students love being here!
We recently received a super sweet note from one of our school families sharing how grateful they are to be part of the Yorkshire school community and how their child wakes up excited to come to school each day.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Our teachers pour their hearts into creating a place where students feel loved, supported, inspired, and excited to learn.
We are so thankful for the trust our families place in us and so proud of the joyful school community we’ve built together. We truly love what we do. And we love that our students love it here, too.

We are so proud to feature Tanner Nyveen in our Alumni Spotlight!
Tanner was part of our school community for many years and recently graduated. This fall, he will attend the University of Texas, where he plans to study Sports Psychology while continuing to play baseball.
The mentorship and encouragement he received at Yorkshire Academy helped shape the path he is taking today. Tanner credits Coach Hanst for inspiring both his love of sports and his decision to pursue this field of study.
When asked about his favorite memories, Tanner shared that playing kickball and the strong sense of community among friends stood out the most. He formed lasting friendships during his time here and still keeps in touch with many of them today.
Recently, Tanner and several of his friends even reached out to attend our Kindergarten Graduation ceremony. We are so honored, this is a true testament to the meaningful bonds and lifelong connections built within our Yorkshire Academy school community.
Congratulations, Tanner! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish at UT! We're so proud of you and all of our YA Alumni!

On the last day of school, Mrs. Vivien Crain returned to where her Yorkshire journey first began; the preschool classroom where she read to our little learners.
What a full-circle moment for someone who has spent decades pouring love, wisdom, and care into generations of students.
To honor her nurturing spirit and lasting impact on our community, a beautiful garden statue of a rabbit cradling a baby bunny will have a special place on our campus. It's a reminder of the love and care she has always shown to our students and our school.
Some people leave behind memories. Others leave behind a legacy.

Last evening, we celebrated a bittersweet milestone as we honored our amazing 5th grade graduates!
Some of these students joined our school family just this year, while others have been with us for an incredible 9 years. No matter when their journey began, they became a close-knit group; building friendships, sharing memories, and creating bonds that will last forever.
From everyday classroom moments to special events and milestones, they have grown together in such meaningful ways. Watching them support one another, laugh together, and become the wonderful young people they are today has been truly special.
As they move on to middle school, we want them to know how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of them. Their future is bright, and we cannot wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish.
Congratulations, graduates! Once part of the Yorkshire family, always a part of the Yorkshire family!

Today was an extra special day at Yorkshire Academy as we celebrated our Kindergarten Graduation!
Watching Kindergarten students take this big step forward filled our hearts with so much pride and joy. We were especially grateful to have so many parents and families with us to celebrate these precious moments together.
Our teachers shared how thankful they are for the trust parents place in us each day by allowing us to teach and care for their children. Every student brings a unique personality, energy, and joy to the classroom, and it has been such a privilege to watch them grow throughout the year. While it’s hard to believe it’s already time to let them move on to the next chapter, we couldn’t be prouder of all they have accomplished and all that lies ahead for them.
One of the most meaningful parts of the celebration was welcoming back several Yorkshire alumni who are now graduating from high school and preparing for college. Their continued connection to our school community is a beautiful reminder that once you are part of the Yorkshire family, you are always part of it.
Congratulations to our graduates! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will do!

Market Day was a HUGE success in Mrs. Hodges’ 3rd grade class!
After learning all about economics, imports and exports, and trade, our students put their knowledge into action by becoming young entrepreneurs!
Throughout the unit, students earned classroom money through positive behavior, responsibility, and hard work. Then came the big event: creating, promoting, and selling their own products at Market Day!
The classroom was buzzing with excitement as shoppers explored a boutique, an art gallery, 3D-printed toys and trinkets and of course, delicious baked goods!
Our 2nd grade students even joined the fun as customers, practicing smart spending while supporting their fellow students. It was a great way to engage the different grade levels.
We are so proud of Mrs. Hodges’ class for bringing learning to life in such a meaningful and fun way!

Our upper elementary students had an amazing time at their recent Splash Day!
With beautiful weather and plenty of smiles, students enjoyed water slides, water cannons, water balloons, and nonstop fun with friends.
Days like these are such a special reminder of the strong community we have at our school and the memories our students are making together. As we start this final week of school, Splash Day was the perfect way to celebrate a fantastic year filled with friendship, laughter, and learning!
A special thank you to Coach Hanst for all the planning and preparation! Way to go! The kids had such a great time!
