☔With the weather forecast suggesting a chance of rain, we want to review our Inclement Weather Dismissal Procedures to ensure a safe process for everyone. Please note that a Inclement Weather Dismissal will only be called for severe weather conditions. Walkers will continue their routes even in rain. Severe weather encompasses situations such as lightning, tornadoes, or hurricanes.

🌩️Given the unpredictable nature of weather, if severe conditions are confirmed, we will provide updates via Parent Square approximately 20 minutes before dismissal. During this time, all walkers will be converted to car riders. Bus riders and daycare students will be dismissed as usual.

☎️If you prefer that your student not walk in the rain and wish to switch their transportation to Car Rider, please call our front office by 2:00 PM to update their transportation for the day.

🚗🚗Rainy weather often leads to longer car lines. To facilitate a smooth process for all our Lions and assist our wonderful staff in returning to the building quickly, please ensure your 2026-2027 numbered tag is clearly displayed in your front windshield. All Lindsey Lions are assigned a car rider number.

WEATHER UPDATE | Monday, August 31

Lamar CISD schools and facilities will be OPEN and operate on their regular schedules tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1.

District leaders participated in a regional weather briefing this afternoon. While our area may experience rain and wind, current forecasts do not indicate conditions that would warrant canceling school.

We are aware of inaccurate information circulating online, including AI-generated information stating that Lamar CISD will be closed tomorrow. That information is false.

We will continue monitoring weather conditions throughout the evening and early morning. If anything changes that impacts school operations, Lamar CISD will communicate directly with families and staff.

Our Lindsey Lions got a little extra VIP treatment this morning as the Charger Cheerleaders helped open car doors and welcome students into school! Their smiles, and school spirit were the perfect way to start the day.
