As part of the Auction items, first grade got the storytelling time with the Mexican Consulate. They had a great time listening to ‘ La Caperucita Roja’ and playing ‘¿Lobo estás ahí?’. Our 3rd to 5th graders also had a chat emphasizing the importance of speaking Spanish and learning about the all the things the consulates provide. Also, thanks to Cochinita Co for allowing us to bring delicious conchas to our teachers.

Our last Principal of the Day: Principal Bedford! He got a super special perk- helping with 1st grade graduation. He spoke with confidence like a true leader 🎤👏🏽

Saying adiós is hard when a teacher leaves such a big mark on little hearts. Our first grader loved the hands on help from this year’s Spanish Language Assistant from Spain. Thank you for sharing your language, culture, kindness, and smiles with our classroom — we will miss you so much! 🇪🇸📚 PS- did you know Helms PTA helps by providing our Spanish Language Assistant with a stipend for housing, groceries and gas💛

🎉 Congratulations to Rivi for having her beautiful artwork selected as the cover of this year’s Helms Yearbook! We are so proud of her creativity and talent and impressed by all of the submissions 🎨📚✨ Yearbooks are going home TODAY, so families — be sure to check your child’s backpack! 🎒 📖 The Yearbook Committee recommends writing your child’s name inside the yearbook in case it gets misplaced. And don’t forget — our Yearbook Signing Social is happening next Friday! 🎉 Tickets are still available, so grab yours before they’re gone!
