Last night, we celebrated our second annual Recreational Sports Banquet and the completion of another incredible year of athletics for our Men’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball teams.
Our athletics program was created to help students continue their educational journey while developing the confidence, leadership, and life skills that prepare them for what comes next, whether that’s transferring to a university, entering the workforce, or continuing their athletic career.
Congratulations and many thanks to our teams, their families, and our staff on their dedication and determination this year.

80% of students at Lone Star College-Houston North work. Nearly half are raising children. For students like these, “show up or fall behind” isn’t a philosophy — it’s a barrier.
This fall, LSC-Houston North is expanding HyFlex course offerings — a model that lets students attend in person, join live online, or watch a recorded session on their own schedule. Same instruction, same connection, same community. Just built around the reality of students’ actual lives rather than asking them to rearrange those lives to fit a class.
College is for everyone. LSC-Houston North is committed to making sure everyone can actually get there.

"We cannot ask students to choose between their livelihood and their education. We have to meet them where they are. Online education began filling that gap, and as it grew, students who once enrolled in evening and weekend programs gradually migrated to fully virtual formats.
But online-only is not the answer for everyone."
Flexibility Is the New Access: Why HyFlex Is the Future at Lone Star College-Houston North
Years ago, a chancellor of a large community college district pushed back against the idea that college is not for everyone. His counter was simple and enduring: there is some
