GROWN UP NIGHT is October 22 from 6:00-8:00pm!

This month we are featuring some some original marimba songs! Marimbas are super easy to play and when we have a bunch of people playing them together—we have a pretty amazing band! No experience necessary and get ready for some fun times!

Katy Marimba hosted a Grown Up Night last Saturday!

This was a great evening! I had 10 grown ups sign up for this night and they were all so pumped to PLAY!!! It was a "beach theme", featuring songs that remind us of vacay times in sun! The skills level ranged from very beginner to advanced and all in between. Regardless, everyone found a part they could play. I had them warm up on the marimba using scales and some simple exercises. I had a video that gave notes, kinda "karaoke" style, but I also had sheet music for those who were more comfortable reading notes.

It was so much FUN!!!! I plan on having another Grown Up Night on Saturday, August 20. The theme will be "Back to School" and we'll play some hit songs from back in the day!
