Being a teacher is hard and demanding. Every year responsibilities grow and the quantity of resources stay the same.

My mission is to help teachers at all levels ease the struggle with quality resources and lesson plans.

After a long week of working 14- hour days three days this week and having to recover my stolen driver's license and debit card, I've finally had the time to embrace the note my sub left for me. She was so nice. I pray that God blesses her in a special way.

Ten years of teaching. One thing remains true. I don't just teach content. I teach students, human being with unique emotional and social needs, whose gifts need to be nutured and cultivated. When my students enter my life, I hope they feel seen, heard and cared about. That's more important to me than any standardized test score.

If you try your best and come up short, as a teacher I can bridge the gap and coach you through the rest. You can learn and grow through it. What I won't tolerate or entertain is not attempting to do the work (zeros galore--- progress report with more zeros on it than Jeff Bezos paycheck). I am not a fairy godmother nor am I in the business of making dreams and wishes come true without any work. If you want it, you have to work! And that goes for anything in life. Extenuating circumstances require communication. I'll save that subject for another time.

Are Spanish and English dictionaries obsolete?

I was cleaning out my classroom and came across a set of Spanish and English dictionaries by McGraw Hill, one of the best kinds. A year ago when I found out the previous teacher left them behind, I was absolutely thrilled to have inherited the treasure. Now I'm not sure what to do with them. It's so much easier for students to look up information on their phones that they would scoff at the idea of having to flip through pages to look up a word. Maybe it's just me being sentimental mixed with some nostalgia, but I don't want to part ways with these dictionaries even if they are just decoration for the bookshelf.
