Historic Houston is reopening their salvage workshop. This grant will go a long way to help! They are so close to qualifying, but need 40 more votes. If you haven't done so, please go to this link (you may have to click learn more there) and enter "Reclaim Resources." Help keep valuable building materials from homes being demolished out of landfills and put them where we can reuse them! Voting ends 6/30 and only takes a minute.

There are many HISD schools in the East End that we are hearing need a space for arts programs or needing "experts" to help with arts programs. If you know of an HISD school that has such a need let us know ASAP. We are hoping to work with HISD to meet these needs!

Do you know of an arts group (dance, music, theater, etc) that is looking for a home in the East End? Let us know so we can invite them to a breakfast to discuss the future of the building.

HRCEA had a committee meeting tonight with representatives from City of Houston, HISD, UH and the community. GREAT ideas were discussed and things are happening!

Shingles are going on!!!

Houston City Council designated the Rufus Cage Elementary School at 1417 Telephone Road as a Protected Historic Landmark. The designation protects it from demolition or inappropriate alteration.
