We loved welcoming students from Kingwood Middle School to our North Forest campus! 🎧✨ During their visit, students explored our Audio Recording Technology department and got a firsthand look at the creative possibilities in Media Arts.

From studio spaces to sound production, it’s always exciting to introduce future creatives to the world of audio and storytelling. We hope this tour inspired the next generation of talent, and we can’t wait to see where their creativity takes them! 🎶🎥

Last night’s End of the Semester Showcase was truly a fantastic celebration! 🎬✨ It was heartwarming to see such a full house and to feel the incredible energy filling the room all evening. It’s a special way to honor our students’ dedication, talent, and creativity.

A big, heartfelt thank you to our amazing faculty, staff, and students for making the evening so memorable.

Congratulations to each and every one of our students on your final projects — your passion and storytelling shone brightly on screen, and we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved this semester. Our Audio Post Production students are really dedicated! 🎧 Guided by Brian Maratea, they’re discovering how to perfectly sync sound and select the right effects to make each scene come alive. Whether it’s cleaning up dialogue or creating the right mood and atmosphere, they’re getting valuable hands-on experience with the same tools and techniques used in the industry.

It’s all about the details—and these students are learning how the right sound can completely transform a story. 🎬

Shoutout to our Media Arts leadership for showing up and showing out! 🎬🎧

Media Arts Department Chair Melvin Mays and Audio Studio Manager Adrian Young recently visited Spring High School for its College & Career Day, where they had the opportunity to connect with students and share exciting insights into careers in filmmaking, audio production, and more. They talked about the many different paths you can take in the industry, from practical technical roles to creative storytelling. It was a wonderful opportunity to give students a genuine glimpse of what it takes to turn their passion into a rewarding profession.

We’re always delighted to inspire the next generation of creatives, answer their questions, and help them start imagining their future in Media Arts. The future looks bright, and we’re genuinely excited to be part of this inspiring journey!

Our Live Sound II class brought their skills to the real world at Camden Park! 🎶🔊

Led by instructor Jacob Meador, students got to dive into a hands-on experience during a live event, where they could put into practice what they’ve learned in class while supporting sound production in an energetic and professional setting. Moments like these are what make our program special — they help students grow in confidence, work together as a team, and really grasp the fast-paced, precise nature of live sound.

We’re always delighted to see our students step into these spaces, develop their skills, and connect what they’re learning to real opportunities. It’s all about helping the next generation of creatives succeed in the industry—and they came prepared and eager.
