You can spend hours reading notes and still feel overwhelmed when you sit down for a timed registry exam.

Why?

Because registry prep is not just about recognizing information — it’s about retrieving and applying it under pressure.

That’s where practice tests make a huge difference.

In our newest blog, we break down:

The science behind retrieval practice
Why timed questions improve test-day performance
How practice tests expose weak areas faster
Common mistakes students make with question banks
How to use board-style questions more effectively

If you’re preparing for the ARDMS or another ultrasound registry exam, this is one strategy you do not want to overlook.

One difficult part about healthcare professions:

You can be mentally exhausted and still fully capable of doing your job well.

Which means a lot of people keep pushing through long after they probably needed support, rest, or time to process what they’ve been carrying.

Taking care of your mental health is not separate from being a good healthcare professional.

POV: You actually visualized the pancreas pretty well… but “portions obscured by bowel gas” still somehow ends up in the report.

Pancreatic ultrasound can be surprisingly effective, but bowel gas often limits complete visualization, especially of the tail.

One important alternative when more detailed evaluation is needed?

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

EUS combines endoscopy with high-frequency ultrasound by placing the transducer directly within the stomach and duodenum, allowing close evaluation of the pancreas with less interference from bowel gas.

Benefits of EUS:
• Detailed visualization of pancreatic lesions
• Improved detection of small masses
• Better assessment of cysts and chronic pancreatitis
• Allows fine needle aspiration (FNA) for biopsy
• Helpful when CT/MRI findings are inconclusive

Sometimes the best pancreatic window is from the inside.

From cardiac to renal to fetal imaging, few conditions span ultrasound specialties quite like VACTERL.
Affecting roughly 1 in 10,000–40,000 births, there’s a real chance you could identify at least one piece of the puzzle.

There’s something powerful about a group of sonographers choosing to spend part of their weekend learning, reviewing, and pushing themselves to grow.

That level of dedication says a lot about this profession.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the webinar this weekend. We know your time is valuable, and we don’t take that lightly.

If you missed this one, the next live webinar is June 20–21.
