We have temporarily closed while we restructure as a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization and find a bigger, better space. If you would like to help us on this journey, contact us by phone (832-282-4792) or by e-mail ([email protected]), or come out to one of our public meetups.

You can also contact us if you need help with a particular project since most of our tools and equipment are temporarily living with some of our members.

Thank you for all your support and stay tuned for more updates!

Moving Party!

Well folks, it's been a fun and interesting couple of years but it's time for a change. We are moving out of our current location and putting everything in storage so we can focus our efforts on becoming an official 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization. As a nonprofit, we will be eligible for STEM grants and other tax-deductible donations that will help us get a larger facility and develop our educational programs.

Come out this Saturday to help us pack up and learn about our plans moving forward. Some things will be given away instead of packed up. Also, we're lighting the BBQ grill and having a pot-luck lunch so please bring something for all to share.

Monthly Open House 02/04/2017

Hey Makers! If you have never made it out to our makerspace yet, this is your last chance. Our Open House meetup today will be our last meetup at this location.

We are going to reorganize the makerspace as a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization and move to a larger facility that will support us. However, this process may take a few months. We will still be meeting at libraries and other places that will have us so please keep supporting us and the new makerspace will be better than ever!

Monthly Open House Still not sure what we’re all about yet? Come on out for our Monthly Open House happening the first Saturday of every month @ noon! Check out the tools and projects and meet other Makers in Katy.

Happy New Year, Makers!

I hope everyone had a great holiday. Who's ready for 2017? We have many things planned and hope everyone can join us in making this year the year we really take off as a makerspace. As you may all know, we have been struggling to keep the doors open lately but in spite of everything against us, we are still here.

If you believe in our cause - if you believe Katy needs a community space to learn new skills, meet new people, and inspire the next generation of makers - if you've been on the fence about getting a membership - now is the time to show your support. We are working on getting our 501(3)(c) non-profit status which will make us eligible for grants and donations, but for now, we rely entirely on memberships and other support from the community.

Help us keep the dream alive! There are many ways to help. First, go to our website at katymakerspace.com and get a membership (auto-renewing subscriptions get a 10% discount). Once you are a member, come use the space. The more activity there is, the more others will want to join us. Are you an expert in something? Teach a class! Got a fundraising idea? Let's do it!

Want to learn more about us and how you can help? Come out tomorrow for our Monthly Open House Meetup from 9AM-6PM.

It's cold and rainy today but we're still here for the Monthly Open House Meetup. For those brave enough to drive out here, please be careful on those slick roads. As CrazyRussianHacker always says, "Safety is number one priority!"
