To top off the lovely day yesterday, we had another successful Golf Tournament! Thank you so much to all the participants, supporters, and volunteers! With your support, we were able to raise funds for scholarships. The proceeds will help students in need from the Houston area that will attend the new UTRGV.

Tomorrow is the big day, our Fourth Annual Gold Tournament! We are so excited to host it this year at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch in Katy. We still have spots left, so if you haven't registered, sign up tomorrow morning at 10:30am. We have awesome auction items for everyone this year like autographed football and jersey by Earl Campbell, Heisman Trophy winner and Hall of Famer, a week long getaway at Piney Shores Resort in Conroe, an autographed book Breaking the Surface by Greg Louganis, and lots more! See you there!

Longtime Board Member, Nellie Gonzalez, retakes post as Interim Treasurer. Unfortunately, Jason Valenzuela has resigned as Treasurer. We greatly appreciate his 2 years of service to the board. Nellie served as Treasurer starting in about 2009 and has agreed to fill in on an interim basis. Thank you, Nellie! If you are an alumni from UTPA or UTB and would like to serve on the board, be part of a great organization with a great cause, and/or would like to volunteer, please feel free to contact us.

Howdy! Friendly reminder: If you haven't submitted your registration form for our Fourth Annual Golf Tournament, please do so soon to have an accurate headcount. Also, next month is our Meet n Greet in Clear Lake.

Hello fellow alumni! Check out our event board for our first events as UTRGV Houston Alumni Chapter. In September, we have a Meet n Greet in Clear Lake area. In October, we will have our biggest annual fundraiser for scholarships; our Fourth Annual Golf Tournament. If you know any UTB alumni, please invite them to our events.
