About the Organization
The Houston Touchdown Club is a nonprofit, educational organization and local chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF). Founded in 1947, the organization is dedicated to promoting amateur football as a platform for youth development, citizenship, and academic and athletic achievement across the greater Houston area.
Through a variety of programs and events, the Club fosters community engagement and fellowship while raising funds to support scholarships, youth initiatives, and charitable projects. Annual fundraising efforts typically range from $100K–$150K, with proceeds reinvested into the community through scholarships, weight room initiatives, and other outreach efforts.
________________________________________Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the primary operational leader for the Houston Touchdown Club and is responsible for managing nonprofit programming, fundraising efforts, sponsorship development, and organizational communications.
This role requires strong relationship-building, event management, and organizational leadership skills to ensure successful ex*****on of events and advancement of the organization’s mission.
The Executive Director reports directly to the Club President and Board of Officers.
________________________________________Key Responsibilities
Program & Event Management
• Plan, coordinate, and execute 16–26 annual nonprofit events, including:
o College Coaches Tours (5–8 annually)
o Annual Golf Tournament (20–30 teams)
o High School Awards Luncheons/Dinners (6–8 annually)
o Signature fundraising events (e.g., Touchdowner of the Year)
• Oversee all event logistics including venue selection, speaker coordination, sponsorships, and attendee management
• Track event performance and provide reporting to the Board
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
• Develop and manage sponsorship programs (title and table sponsorships)
• Build relationships with donors, sponsors, schools, and community partners
• Support fundraising initiatives, including potential grant writing opportunities
• Help achieve annual fundraising goals of $100K–$150K
Organizational Operations
• Coordinate and organize monthly Board meetings, including:
o Agendas
o Meeting minutes
o Financial updates
o Governance materials (e.g., bylaws)
• Maintain effective communication with Board members, volunteers, and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit standards and organizational policies
Marketing & Communications
• Manage email communications and outreach campaigns
• Update and maintain the organization website
• Oversee social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
• Promote events and highlight organizational impact in the community
Community Representation
• Represent the Houston Touchdown Club at community events and stakeholder meetings
• Strengthen relationships with schools, athletic programs, and community leaders

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• 2–5 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, event management, fundraising, or community engagement
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and
• Commitment to the mission of a nonprofit, community-focused organization
Preferred
• Experience with nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or grant writing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience in marketing and social media management
• Familiarity with sports organizations or community-based programs

• Flexible, primarily remote work structure
• Estimated 20–30 hours per week
• Occasional evening and weekend commitments for events

Thanks to the more than 100 people who played this week in the TD Club's annual Golf Fundraising Scramble.
We were able to raise money for the charities we do. This includes scholarships, refurbishing inner-city weight rooms, assisting the Senior Showcase and getting unused cleats from the Houston Texans to the needy Greater Houston high schools.

Congrats to the winners of today's Hellas High School Scholar-Athlete Luncheon. First place was Maxwell Dean of Tomball, second was Juan Carlos Martinez of Strake Jesuit and third place was Andrew Lumpkin of Stratford. There were 26 finalists this year at the luncheon who had to be starters on their respective football teams. The finalists were judged on athletic ability, academic success and citizenship, as embodied in extra-curricular activity. All received scholarships.
