Sunlight Mission is happy to share that the education of the precious children we LOVE in Nakyenyi Village, Uganda will continue! God is NOT done with this story!

It has been a very hard start to 2017 as we have dealt with a major betrayal of trust. Over time and with more discoveries, it became apparent that we would not be able to continue the project without strong, trustworthy, support on the ground in Uganda. We were heartbroken as we thought that we would have to let the school doors close, BUT God provided a miracle!

Some friends and mentors who have been praying with us through this trying time and whom also have supported Uganda's children for many years, felt that God had given them clear direction to be a part of the solution to keeping the doors at Calvary open and continuing God's plan for the school. They have feet on the ground! They have staff support in Uganda to build back and restore what God intended to use for good!

It is with great JOY and HOPE that we share that True Impact Ministries www.trueimpactministries.org will be taking over this school project! We are transitioning supporters of the project to them and they are already making great strides to help the community and school to heal from the secret destruction that was taking place by the selfish decisions of a few people there.

The previous Ugandan leadership has left the school and communuty and we are excited to watch as True Impact humbly and passionately seeks to restore and renew hope and trust in the LORD for all the children, families and teachers in this place that we have come to love so much!

Praise God for this answer to our prayers! Thank you True Impact Family!

Sunlight Mission regrets to inform our friends and supporters that we are no longer associated with Ssengaali Vincent due to fraudulent actions that have jeopardized our Calvary Jr Academy Project. Please do not respond to any facebook posts/requests from him on our behalf, as he will no longer work on any Sunlight Mission projects.

Currently the future of the Calvary Jr Academy Project is unknown, but we are working diligently & prayerfully towards a solution to save it.

Please be in prayer for the students and teachers of Calvary Junior Academy during this transitional and difficult time.

For more information or specific questions, please contact our executive director, Jen Cheeseman, directly at [email protected]. Thank you.

Please pray for our director's family.
Vincent's son admitted to hospital again
Ssejjoba Elijah admitted again nearly after one year for mysterious shortage of blood; amount found in body barely 4 units.
Great prayers. 4 bottles of blood so far added to his body. Calling upon God's healing Hand in Jesus's Name.

If you have ever wondered what a difference your sponsorship could make to a child - read this little guys story from the eyes of one of our team members from our trip.

This morning, I am editing images for Sunlight Mission's sponsorship page, so that we can add more kiddos whom we met while in Uganda last week. This sweet boy immediately had my heart.

As Jen Cheeseman tried to sit him down so I could take his portrait, he stopped her to tuck in his shirt and fuss with the belt around his waste. This child, covered in dirt and stains, missing buttons, wanted SO badly to make a good impression for YOU, for the ONE photo you see of him to help decide whether he is chosen for sponsorship or not, that he took time to freshen up. It just about broke me.

You see, these children are REAL PEOPLE. They desire to be seen and heard. And they ALL deserve to be sponsored. They all deserve a little HOPE. To be reassured of God's love and provision. To know they are not forgotten.

"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing." Zephaniah 3:17

This is a happy birthday video for sweet Ellie who turned 4 recently! In lieu of presents for her birthday, she raised money to provide at least 26 new desks for Calvary students! Many of our classrooms do not currently have desks, so this is a HUGE blessing and will pick about 100 kids up off the floor during learning time! A BIG Thank you to ELLIE and her family for this awesome effort!!!
