Doing some speed chalk art for KPRC2 / Click2Houston Houston Life to help promote Houston Via Colori this weekend!
Little known fact: my nickname in college, where I first started taking my art seriously, was "Tex" for the simple reason that I'm from Texas. No accent, no boots. Still Tex. My psuedo-godchildren call me Uncle Tex to this day...
And now here I am doing on live TV of a dog named Tex, the KPRC mascot. This is the kind of full circle, universe is awesome type of experience upon which I thrive. See you tomorrow at !

Stumbled across this project, with some cool parallels to VP's Conversation Piece 1 & 2.
PASTOR/AL is a collaboration between a musician (Graham Hill / Roman Ruins) and a visual artist (Hunter Mack) with aspirations of producing a vinyl record and an archival art print. The basic premise is as follows: Hunter produces a painting and gives it to Graham, Graham crafts a song based on the painting and gives it to Hunter, Hunter creates a painting based on the new song - then the process repeats itself. It's an artistic version of the childhood game "Telephone"!

El Grupo Gr**go (friends of Vangartist Project) new installation: The idea of the public payphone as a mechanism to link two people and facilitate interaction presents a unique opportunity. We are proposing to reinterpret the interaction from a two way verbal communication mechanism to a mechanism that encourages play as physical communication.

New Vangartist Project logo: the new logo represents the multiple points of the Project, namely artists, art, people, ideas. Each is equally important, but part of the concept first and foremost. Each point connects to two others, interlocking and interweaving with the other connections. Complementary colors differentiate the individuals from the collective, and vice versa.
