Congratulations to our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year-Jeff Johnson! We surprised him in front of his band students, his wife (who also teaches at Clements), one of his sons (a former Ranger), and Jim Drew happened to be there, too! to share in the excitement! Jeff Johnson

On Tuesday, we celebrated the Topping Off Ceremony for our new building, and it was truly surreal. The ceremony was hosted by Durotech, our construction partner, as part of a long-standing tradition in the building industry. A topping off signifies the placement of the final structural beam and serves as a moment to honor the construction team’s hard work and progress. Because Durotech organized and led the event, attendance was coordinated through them. Our administrative team was invited in recognition of the collaboration and ongoing partnership we’ve maintained throughout the project. They invited members of our choir to perform the National Anthem and requested our NJROTC to lead the Presentation of Colors.
Clements High School has been open since 1983, and now nearly half of our campus is under construction as we prepare for a new building that will open soon (we are on schedule!).
We’ve navigated a decrease in parking, no football field or track facilities, unpredictable weather, and many more obstacles that come with our current reality. But being part of this milestone reminded me that every challenge has been worth it. Over the past two years, our theme has grown from “Building a Legacy, Brick by Brick,” when all we could see was dirt and an empty field, to “Building the Legacy, Together” as we adapted to life with part of our campus under construction. Today, we finally got to see that vision take shape.
The work that has gone into making this dream a reality is something I can hardly put into words. From design to construction—architects, Durotech, DLR, CHS administration, and so many others—I am genuinely blown away by the progress, the collaboration, and the dedication it takes to reach such a milestone.

First (hopefully) annual student vs faculty volleyball game-faculty wins!
Faculty team name was the “Guardians” so when we cheered, we said “Go Guardians” … (students didn’t think that was as funny as we did)
I’m so proud of the Future Coaches of Texas Association - Clements chapter comprised of student athletes who were the coaches for this game. They drafted the team, organized and leads practice, and coached both teams during event.
Special shout to Coach Berger and Coach Darnell for leading this charge to make this event happen!

We pulled it off-and man did the faculty and staff show the spirit this week!
During our November faculty meeting, a group of students from the Culture and Climate Committee presented to our staff. One topic on their agenda was centered around school spirit, specifically the impact teachers have when they dress up. This week, our staff took part in a top-secret “Underground Spirit Week,” and the excitement spread quickly through the halls. Each morning, students eagerly waited to see how their teachers and school staff would show up—sparking conversations, predictions, and plenty of laughter. From clashing shoes to comfy sweats, from “anything but a cup” creativity to a mash-up of holiday gear, each day’s twist kept students guessing as they tried to crack the secret theme behind our Underground Spirit Week.
It was a fun, community-building week that brought out creativity, curiosity, and a whole lot of school spirit!

Four years ago, Clements High School football team began a special partnership with Brookdale First Colony, and it has grown into one of their favorite monthly traditions. Each month, a different position group and their coach attend Brookdale’s Happy Hour, where they spend time mingling with residents, serving dinner, and sharing plenty of smiles and laughter.
What starts as a casual visit quickly turns into a dance party full of energy and joy, bringing together two generations of our community. The evening wraps up with our players cleaning off tables, saying their goodbyes, and promising to return next month.
It’s a simple act of service that continues to remind our team what community, connection, and giving back are all about.
Thank you for coming out to support our team last weekend!
Shout out to our coaches for starting this amazing partnership and the players for their service.
Exciting!!!
