Today's new Alabaster Jar podcast is a fun preview of what is coming in season 7. Dr. Josephine Stringer joins me as I share summer stories from Oxford museums, seaside hikes, and scones with clotted cream, all setting the stage for what’s ahead. We introduce the upcoming focus on Paul’s letters and Acts, including a future “Paul’s Voyages” cruise that will combine teaching with on-site exploration of archaeological sites. We also highlight upcoming Italy art tours and events at the Museum of the Bible, all centered on women of Scripture and church history in art. Along the way, I also pull back the curtain on some current writing and research projects—from John Calvin and Paul on women to the cross in the New Testament and key women in the Gospels.

Join me on my new learning platform, Let Her Learn, to study the Creation story of Genesis 1 & 2, and the Fall in Genesis 3. We look at God’s purposes in creating humanity, and the results of Adam and Eve's Fall into sin. After exploring Genesis, we delve into the stories’ impact in key NT texts (1 Cor 11; 1 Tim 2). We discover God’s love for his daughters and his equipping us for ministry within his Church and for his world.

One of the most beautiful and inspiring places to visit is the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Italy. In the 14th century, master artist Giotto painted the entire chapel with the visual story of Scripture. The apse contains his powerful rendering of the Last Judgement, while one side portrays Old Testament frescos, and the other illustrates the New Testament.
Giotto's paintings highlight the women of the Bible and their key involvement in the narrative.
