Therapy for Depression and Anxiety in Houston, TX 05/31/2023

It’s been a fun few years. Our son has decided to return to public school, and we will not be offering classes for the 23-24 school year. I have enjoyed getting to know so many in the homeschool community.

Our other business, Solace Counseling and Coaching, has expanded. Please follow us through Zen the Therapy Cat. We see adolescents and adults and have several counselors that would be a good fit for homeschoolers and their families who would like to work on improving mental health (non homeschoolers welcome too). You can also find us online at

As part of our involvement in the YMCA Youth Government program, the YMCA on Stella Link has invited us to attend a Teen Takeover this Friday. I checked - and all middle school and high school students can attend. You do not have to be a part of the Y or enrolled in any of our classes. They do ask that you RSVP.

Updated: Date changed to August 12th.
We were gifted hundreds of used homeschool books. The book swap is a great opportunity to trade in your old books for new reading material, but even if you don't have a stack of old books around the house, we have enough to share. This is a free event, but in order to host it, we will need volunteers to set up and clean up afterward. Please let me know if you are able to help.

BOOK SWAP POLL

We received HUNDREDS of donated books for our next book swap, many of them are curriculum.

Having all these books means that even if you don’t have books to bring to the swap, there’s still plenty for you to look through and take home. The first 10 families will get 10 free tickets for books, in addition to tickets for each book brought to the swap.

The swap will be a free event and we have the option of hosting it in our office in SW Houston (with ac) or at Eldridge Park in the early-ish morning to avoid the heat and the kids could play afterward.

We are thinking late July or early August.

What’s your preference? AC or park? July or August? Leave a comment below.

Now Enrolling/Spots available for our homeschool debate program. We are in our 3rd year, led by an experienced debate coach/certified teacher, and have a lot to offer for the 2022-3 school year.

Participating middle and high school age students have the opportunity to learn speech and debate formats and compete on the local circuit against peers from other public/private schools. This year we will be involved in the YMCA Youth Government Program as well as attend Texas Forensic Association competitions, compete in UIL events, and prepare for local oratory and scholarship competitions.

We use a project based curriculum, and students are encouraged to follow their specific interests. All experience levels welcome.

Please open the attached flyer for more information and feel free to message us or call/text 832-766-3983 with questions or to sign up.
