I used to always want to join a knitting circle. I remember always going into yarn stores and seeing older women knitting and talking. It was so relaxing and social.
For years I’ve wanted to organize a hand stitch group where people can come and stitch in a relaxing social setting. Whether you know how to stitch or not. You can learn the beginning of mending or just stitch to relax at the end of your long day or just get out of your reality for a moment.
Finally, with the amazing hospitality of Siphon Coffee, I will be hosting a free event every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, called Coffee & Stitch beginning July 13.
Come and tell your friends! Bring something you want to stitch or mend or don’t bring anything and I will have some random things to stitch.

Sewing and textiles is not a rigid practice. It is one of the most creative and mind altering creative experiences. It is used to as a meditative and calming practice while it also builds fine motor skills, patience, problem solving abilities and critical thinking.
Even for those who think they are not creative, working with textiles can manipulate that part of you and allow you to think more openly and creatively.
I do not teach sewing and textiles from a textbook or from a home sewing pattern... I teach it from a place of innovation and introspection. Get ready for some fun and making magic!
