“Kids are the future.” We hear that a lot, we say that a lot. However, the truth is these words have made us, adults, irresponsible. We have washed our hands of the role we play in what happens to our long after we are gone and the responsibility we have in raising children with values that not only ensure they are good-hearted, kind, and happy but also proactive in ensuring our world is a place of justice, equality and peace.
We need to stop telling our children they are the future without first doing what we can to ensure they get there first and, when they do, they have a thriving planet and society they can inherent and improve instead of fix and save from destruction.
