It is Teacher Appreciation Week!

Teachers are instrumental in the growth of any child.

Teachers are an extension of the home and when they are GREAT they are a great compliment to home teaching. When they are Questionable the struggle is harder to overcome at home.

Take a moment and appreciate your great teachers.

Thank you for all you do and Keep up the good work because we are noticing!

Tag a teacher that you appreciate!

I know we all want the best for our children and learning the tips to open the door for successful conversations with our little ones (all the way until) was powerful. Thank you Jane Paterson for sharing these tips.

---

There are so many different ways that non-verbal communication can be conveyed. However, there are a few *Key Elements* that we can use as daily reminders.

When anyone speaks to you (especially children) stop what you are doing and look at them--sounds easy, but try it! Put down that phone, turn away from the screen and make eye contact.

Next, remove barriers so that your upper body/chest area is not "hidden" by a book, desk, or even folded arms.
Turn your feet so they are facing the speaker, not the nearest exit / escape route!

"Loosen" your breath, smile, lean slightly forward and then listen.

These simple techniques show you are open to talk, ready to listen, and willing to communicate.

-----

These can be extremely helpful when working to prevent, stop, and interrupt a bad situation and save a child's life.

Keeping Your Kids Safe is a group effort and we need as many champions as we can get.

Sometimes we do not know what to say and we say things that make it worse.

Lead with love even when you don’t understand.

I have said it many times and I will say it again. What we teach, show, and do impacts our tomorrow. The young ones are watching and they will control our tomorrow so be careful what you pour into them as they will pour into you later.

Be the great teacher you wish you had.

Many people say, I KNOW this is happening BUT...
Which stops the acknowledgment that is needed to start the act of change. I ACKNOWLEDGE this is a problem ....
at that point I enter into the place where I must choose my next action.

When I acknowledged that my child had additional challenges I then had to choose to do something or to do nothing. I chose to do something and that led me to have a different outcome than what was predicted by those leaders in their industry.

With my choice we were able to change the story being told and make us the protagonist of a better story for us and his future.

Knowing is not the same as
Acknowledging because here is where change starts!

Be kind to others so the community can choose to support you where you need.
