We are honored to welcome David Goodwin as the 2026 Commencement Speaker for SBSUM!

David Goodwin is a pioneer in the classical Christian education movement and co-author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, Battle for the American Mind, alongside Pete Hegseth. He helped found The Ambrose School and served as headmaster for 13 years, leading the school from a small struggling campus to a thriving community of more than 500 students. Since 2015, he has served as president of the Association of Classical Christian Schools.

David is also the editor of The Classical Difference magazine, author of Discover Classical Christian Education, and an advisor for numerous educational initiatives, including the Classic Learning Test. His upcoming book will provide an insider’s perspective on why K–12 classical Christian education works.

We look forward to the wisdom, encouragement, and insight he will share with the Class of 2026!

Sarai Martinez has been a student at SBSUM (Paratus) for 11 years. In the fall, she will attend Texas State University to pursue her goal of becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist and continuing to serve children and families.

Sarai asks for prayer that she would continue to be guided by God and His divine plans. She also prays that those she encounters would see evidence of God at work in her life.

Her senior thesis, “Sleeping Beauty: Waking Up to God’s Divine Elegance,” explored the role of beauty and elegance in drawing people closer to the Lord. Sarai chose this topic because beauty has always been important to her, and she believes that surrounding ourselves with things that are visually and spiritually nourishing helps reflect God’s nature and points us back to Him.

We cannot wait to see where the Lord leads you, Sarai!
