Our small, rural forest schoolhouse robotics team recently brought home…
🥇 1st Place Innovation Project
🥇 1st Place Robot Design
at two separate FIRST Lego League Championships.
No massive program.
No giant school behind us.
Just kids who prototype, problem-solve, stumble, and try again.
Proof that:
Small ≠ limited.
Rural ≠ behind.
Nature kids can create world-class innovation.
Turns out, you don’t need a big school to build big thinkers.
If you believe small schools can raise big innovators… drop a 💛 below.

Congratulations to the WFS H3dgehogs on winning First Place in Robot Design at the FIRST Lego League Challenge Qualifier! 🎉
They did such an outstanding job that they were selected as one of only a handful of teams to move forward in the competition. FIRST is the world’s most prominent and influential youth robotics competition, making this recognition a significant achievement for our team and for our school. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, creativity, and teamwork!
At WFS, our students are well-rounded and prepared to thrive in a technology-driven world, while remaining firmly rooted in faith, character, and a deep respect for God’s creation.

✨ What’s Been Happening at WFS? ✨
Our students came back energized and ready to learn after a well deserved holiday break. Last week, our science class wrapped up an amazing Science Fair, showcasing meaningful projects and delivering confident presentations. We were thrilled to receive such positive feedback from parents and visitors. Well done, WFS scholars!
Meanwhile, our Robotics Team is preparing to meet with an archaeologist to showcase their innovative product designed to support archaeology awareness and funding. They’re really looking forward to it! 🤖🏺
In Ms. Laura’s gardening class, students have been busy harvesting and learning how to prune deciduous fruit trees, as well as propagating fig tree cuttings, gaining hands on experience and a deeper connection to nature 🌱🍃
Theatre arts class is in full swing as well. Auditions have officially begun for this year’s WFS play. 🎭 Students are also rotating through soccer in sports class and exploring still life in art class, building skills across movement and creativity. ⚽️🎨
We love seeing our students learning, creating, and growing together. Exciting things ahead! 💙

2025 was an incredible year at WFS! Our students truly love learning, and this past year they were given an abundance of opportunities to explore, create, and be part of so many meaningful and exciting projects.
This fall semester, in particular, students experienced the joy of learning more than ever as we streamlined our academics to be even more personalized and tailored to each child. They dove deeply into U.S. history and geography, built strong academic foundations, and discovered value and curiosity in every subject.
We are also incredibly grateful to our amazing enrichment instructors who helped make Fall 2025 truly unforgettable. Below are some of the enrichment classes and activities our students had the opportunity to participate in during the fall semester.
🎨 Art with Ms. Maria (Master Artist & Painter): Students developed sketching skills, brought their creativity to life through original comics, and experimented with watercolor painting.
🎵 Music with Ms. Mandy (Professional Music Instructor): They explored basic music theory, practiced rhythm, and were introduced to beginning keyboard and bells.
⚽ Fitness Education & Sports with Ms. Katrina (Certified Health Coach): Students participated in a wide range of physical activities and sports while also learning about overall fitness, basic nutrition, and healthy daily habits.
🤖 Robotics with Mr. Shanti (Industry Professional): Students worked through hands-on robotics challenges and entered the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, preparing to compete in 2026.
🌱 Gardening with Ms. Laura (Master Gardener): Students planted, nurtured, and cared for garden beds, an herb garden, and a strawberry tower while learning hands-on gardening skills.
🪵 Woodworking with Mr. Bryan (Skilled Wood Artisan): Students learned about the very basics of woodworking and helped create a bat house as well as individual treasure chest boxes to take home.
From field trips and hands-on science projects to meaningful nature walks, this season was truly unforgettable. I’m looking forward to all the projects, activities, and field trips planned for 2026, and I know that God will continue to bless WFS every step of the way, as always.
A special thank you to Ms. Melissa (Certified Montessori Instructor) for always helping our Little Explorers have such a joyful and engaging experience, and for leading our LEGO Engineering challenges.
And of course, a heartfelt thank you to all of our WFS families and friends for your continued support. We’re very grateful 🙏.
We wish you all a Happy New Year ahead and the very best year yet to come! ✨

A group of WFS students had the most wonderful time visiting a local senior center! The Christmas spirit filled the room as they shared heartfelt holiday music and helped hand out gifts. It was a beautiful reminder that giving truly brings more joy than receiving.
If you’d like to see a video of the students sharing Christmas music during their visit, check out the link in the comments.
Wishing everyone a joyful and unforgettable Christmas. May God bless you all, now and always! 🎄✨

We’re so excited! In just a few days, the WFS students will be visiting a local senior center to sing, play piano and bells, serve, and spread lots of holiday cheer 🎶🎹🔔🎄 They’ll be handing out these beautiful ornaments from The Wonder Forest Shop, along with other fun goodies from the senior center. It’s going to be such a sweet and festive day! 💛✨

At Wonder Forest Schoolhouse, we teach both, all while children stay immersed in the wonders of nature. 🌳🎼 💻 ✨
MIT researchers discovered that teaching music activates both hemispheres of the brain, boosting memory, attention, language skills, and problem-solving. Unlike coding, which mainly develops logical thinking, music combines creativity, emotions, and collaboration, giving children a wider cognitive advantage.
Studies show kids who learn music often outperform peers academically, displaying stronger focus, improved reading skills, and better teamwork. Experts even suggest that starting with music makes it easier for children to learn coding later, since their brains are already trained for complex pattern recognition.
This research highlights how music is more than an art — it’s a powerful tool for building intelligence and shaping well-rounded learners.

We’re excited to finally share the recording of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” a live performance by the students of Wonder Forest Schoolhouse, originally presented during Wonder Forest Day!
This special Christian adaptation of the classic fable explores the importance of honesty and trust through a biblical lens, inspired by Proverbs 12:22:
“The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”
Our students worked so hard to bring this story to life, and we’re thrilled to make it available for friends, family, and the wider community to enjoy.
🎭 Performed live during Wonder Forest Day
