We are a non-profit affiliate of the TLBAA whose primary focus is to promote Texas Longhorn cattle through our two main events - the Winchester Futurity and the TLBGCA Spring Show. ster Futurity is held in Bryan, Texas in March and the Spring Show is held in Brenham, Texas in May. More information about each of these events can be found on our website, www.tlbgca.com. The primary purpose of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Gulf Coast Association is to promote Texas Longhorn cattle. The goal of our annual Cattle Baron’s Premier Longhorn Sale and Winchester Futurity is to provide opportunities to breeders and other interested persons that promote the buying and selling of registered Texas Longhorn cattle. A secondary purpose of TLBGCA is to assist in the education of youth associated with Texas Longhorns. We accomplish this secondary purpose by raising funds for college scholarships during the futurity and sale. We support and encourage our youth membership through awarding scholarships and sponsoring various youth show activities each year. In addition, we also have a Calf Donation Program where youth can choose to enter into a drawing at the Spring Show to try to win a calf that has been generously donated by some of our breeders.

The TLBGCA Spring Show will include a Class 0 in the Trophy Steer show. This is not an official TLBAA class, but there will be several youth there with 2025 steers (some won in last year’s drawing) and they would like an extra opportunity to show, so we are adding Class 0.

Even though it’s not on the TLBAA Class Breaks page, if you want to show a young steer in the Open show, submit an entry form and we will get it in the right class.

📣 Scholarship Reminder from the Texas Longhorn Breeders Gulf Coast Association!

The TLBGCA Scholarship and the Russell Clements Memorial Scholarship are currently open for applications. These scholarships are a great opportunity for students pursuing higher education, especially those continuing their education in Agriculture or Veterinary Medicine.

The TLBGCA Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors pursuing advanced education, while the Russell Clements Memorial Scholarship supports college juniors, seniors, and breeders furthering their education or breeding programs in the agriculture industry.

All applications and required documents must be emailed by March 31, 2026 to [email protected].

We encourage all eligible students to apply and take advantage of these opportunities to support your educational goals!
