There are so many social disparities, but to know that women have been having babies since the beginning of time, it is disturbing to know the real facts about women of color and the fetal mortality rates. Why are black women 3x more likely to die during or post giving birth? It doesn’t make any sense. Thank you “The Brown Egg”for inviting us out. Where are my ladies who are birth workers, physicians and clinicians? We are just as responsible. Let’s advocate for all women and eliminate the bias’, stereotypes and hate. Let’s do more than our jobs, it takes communication, a listening ear, and an understanding that we are all different but unique.

Postpartum care is so important to new parents. My lactating moms need to have food on hand to keep milk supply a-coming. Jasmine rice, Greek salad and zucchini fritters. Let’s not forget the doTerra lemongrass. One drop added to the entire pot of rice and a toothpick drop to the salad dressing. Who knew lemongrass could be used for so many things? I did.

The only way to avoid criticism is to do nothing, say nothing and be nothing. As long as there is breath in my body, I will advocate for my moms, and parents which may leave me open for criticism. Bring it.

Countdown to St.Jude Walk/run. Great Day Houston is a supporter of St. Jude Walk Houston. Fundraising has been fun this year yall. I’ll post my updated 5k run time after the virtual run. As always, we will be taking it up a notch next year yall. We’re doubling our goal to $3,000. I can’t do it without you.
