Behavioral Management Strategies for K-12 students 12/20/2023

You are capable of turning children's behavior around through understanding and using these three factors.

These factors will provide the added ability for you to develop behavior plans that meet their needs.

One child in six experiences challenges regarding their -
• Temperament
• Brain Biology (disorders)
• Environment (the world they live in)

You likely have two or three students in your class who don't respond well to your behavioral management plan. But there is a way to improve their behavior by merging the knowledge gained through the course Never Assume: Know Children Before Labeling Them with your plan.

Never Assume teaches you the foundations of temperament, which deals with our behavioral and emotional responses to our life situations.

The course then addresses brain biology issues, what are called neurodevelopmental disorders (think ADHD, ASD, and LD). It discusses the processing issues that lead to anxiety and stress, followed by disruptive behaviors.

The third factor it looks at is the child's environment. It will help you understand the ACES (adverse childhood experiences) impacting development, behavior, learning, and social interactions.

"I have just completed a master's in social work after years as an Ed specialist/LD specialist and thought your model offered a lot to changing the "space" between teacher and student- parent and child clinician and client- as so much is about the relationship and the use of self in that relationship."
Social Worker

"When we know and have the tools and understand temperament, especially temperament, and then the way to respond to the needs of their deficiencies or the areas where they need support, it really gives us a lot of strength and understanding in how to respond to them."
