With over 23 years in education and 17+ years in online education, Mrs. Hennen has dedicated her career to transforming learning for students across the world. Her experience spans roles as a teacher, curriculum writer, lead teacher, instructional coach, and Head of School, giving her a deep understanding of what it takes to build strong academic systems while keeping students at the center.
When she’s not leading AVA, Mrs. Hennen stays busy with her two daughters — whether it’s traveling to soccer games, soaking up the sunshine, paddle boarding, or fitting in workouts together. In the fall, you’ll almost always find her and her husband in front of the TV cheering on college football or attending games in person. Originally from Florida, Mrs. Hennen still carries her love for the beach wherever she goes. Her idea of a vacation is walking the beach each sunrise and ending the day with a sunset.
Mrs. Hennen’s passion for school choice is what drives her leadership. She believes students deserve an education that combines academic rigor with flexibility, allowing them to pursue their athletic, artistic, and personal dreams without sacrificing quality learning.
