I have played music since childhood, starting on trumpet at age 6 and adding piano, guitar, drums and baritone horn by age 15. Attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Westbury High School, playing in concert band, stage band and marching band. Attended Alvin Community College playing in a variety bands there and studying all band instruments, music theory, ear training and sight singing. Joined the United States Army Band as a trumpet player and also sang lead and played drums in the Army rock band Crossfire. Was trumpeter, pianist, and drummer with the Kingwood College Big Band 2006-2008. Percussionist with the Kingwood Pops Orchestra 2017-2018. I’ve performed in many community, church and professional bands and choirs, notably Porter’s Friendship UMChurch. Bachelor of Music Education Troy St. U. 1994, Master of Music Ed. Sam Houston St. U. 2001. Taught elementary music in Aldine from 94-2015, private lessons at the Kingwood Music School 1996-2007, at the Humble Music Center from 2009-2020. Middle School Band Director at St. Martha, Kingwood, St. Mary Magdalene, Humble and Sacred Heart, Conroe Catholic Schools 2015-2018. I am currently organist/keyboardist at my church, St. Mary Catholic in Cleveland. I have been drummer and singer with local bands Kitsch, The Traditions, Jukebox, Catch22, Black Cat Ridge, et al, and currently with Wildwood Flour. I’ve taught many students in local school bands who have been pleased and with whom others have been impressed by the improvement they heard in their playing.
