Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, the “Queen of Tejano Music,” showed us what it looks like to lead with love, confidence, and pride in who you are.

She stayed rooted in her culture, connected with people in a real way, and made space for so many to feel seen and celebrated.

Proclaimed in Texas in 1995, this day honors a legacy that continues to inspire across generations.

You still hear her. You still feel her. And she continues to inspire every generation that comes after her.

April is National Poetry Month.

A time to pause, reflect, and express yourself in whatever language feels most like you. Mix languages, blend your words, and write in the way that feels authentic to you. Poetry has no limits, no boundaries, no borders.

Pick up a pen or open your keyboard and let your imagination and creativity take the lead. You never know what you might create. ✨

HAABE celebrates and honors National Bilingual and Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month.

This is a time to celebrate students who speak multiple languages and to continue advocating for their educational equity. Our multilingual learners bring cultural, cognitive, and social strengths that enrich our classrooms and communities every day.

As this growing student population continues to thrive, we must ensure they have the support, resources, and opportunities they deserve.

Every language is an asset. Every voice matters.
