I’m running one of my favorite challenges starting tomorrow night.

It’s for all my friends who love photography and want to get started with their cameras!

See Like A Photographer is going to take place after bedtime happens each night for 5 nights and then we will do a extra 5 nights to recap in case someone creeps out of bed and needs mama to rock them back to dreamland. Because !

"The days are long but the years are short. "

This quote struck me so deep that I now have it hanging in my office as a reminder. I would be lying if I told you that I don’t get overwhelmed by the chaos of being a mom of 4 - most days feel anything BUT photo-friendly.

Some days I feel so drained by managing tiny people that it gets hard to appreciate the moment as it’s happening.

Photography has become therapeutic in a way, not just because every mom needs to have a hobby that helps her remember who she is, but also because it helps me to remember to stay in the moment with my children.

The day will soon come that my son cannot fit on the pantry shelving to eat his snack. The day will soon come where the toys will slowly disappear and the loud sounds of my children discovering their world will turn silent.

The minute I snap the candid photo and look into the back of my camera, I become grounded again. Reminding myself that no matter how overwhelmed I feel in that moment, this image will soon become a memory that I cherish.
