A Mother’s Day Blessing for the Mom Who Gives So Much
Mother’s Day is a beautiful time to pause and remember something we can forget in the middle of meals, laundry, lessons, errands, discipline, dishes, and all the needs that fill our days:
This season matters.
The little moments matter.
The sleepy morning snuggles.
The tiny hand reaching for yours.
The child sounding out a word for the first time.
The questions from the back seat.
The messy kitchen after baking together.
The dandelions picked just for you.
The bedtime prayers.
The stories read again and again.
The ordinary days that sometimes feel long—but are actually making a lifetime of memories.
Our children grow so quickly. One day they are needing help tying their shoes, and before we know it, they are stepping into their own callings, their own adventures, their own lives. Each stage brings its own challenges, but each stage also carries treasures we can miss if we are only looking ahead to the next thing.
So today, dear mom, I want to remind you: slow down when you can. Take the picture. Laugh at the little joke. Listen to the long story. Let the hug linger. Notice the child in front of you right now—not the one you wish would hurry up and mature, not the one you’re afraid you’re failing, but the precious child God has placed in your care today.
And please hear this deep in your heart:
God is pleased with the way you love and care for His children.
He sees the meals you make, the tears you wipe, the prayers you whisper, the lessons you teach, the sacrifices no one else notices, and the love you pour out day after day. You may not receive a paycheck for this work. You may not receive applause. You may even feel invisible sometimes.
But you are not invisible to God.
Your work as a mother is deeply important. It is holy. It is significant. You are shaping souls. You are building a home. You are planting truth, love, security, wisdom, and faith into hearts that will carry those seeds for years to come.
And if you are a homeschool mom, you have taken on an assignment that asks even more of you.
You have chosen to carry the weight of your children’s education along with the daily work of motherhood. That means more commitment. More planning. More patience. More sacrifice. More moments of wondering if you are doing enough or doing it right.
But it also brings such beautiful rewards and privileges.
You get to watch the light come on when your child finally understands. You get to hear the first shaky sounds become real reading. You get to see writing improve from wobbly letters to full thoughts on a page. You get to sit beside them as they learn math, history, science, art, music, and the wonder of God’s world.
But even more than that, you get to help them discover who they are.
You get to speak life over them. You get to notice their gifts. You get to help them understand their place in this world and begin to recognize who God has called them to be.
That is no small thing.
So this Mother’s Day, I hope you feel celebrated—not only for what you do, but for who you are.
You are dearly loved by God.
You are chosen for this family.
You are making a difference.
You are doing a great work.
And even on the hard days, even when you feel tired, unseen, or unsure, God is with you. He is strengthening you, leading you, and using your love in ways you may not fully see for many years.
Happy Mother’s Day, dear mom.
May you enjoy the little moments today. May you treasure this stage. May you know that your love matters more than you realize.
And may you hear your Father gently whisper over you:
“Well done, faithful mother. You are caring for what is precious to Me.”
