There is beauty in the ordinary. The way the dew clings to the blades of grass, the sly grin from the neighborhood cat, the nostalgic tune hummed by the gardener outside... remember that beauty is all around you, so don't lose hope in finding it in your own life.

How do you adjust for your energy levels? Could you take some time to write a predictable morning routine that can help keep your momentum throughout the rest of the day?

Perfectionism robs us of the vigor of creativity. With perfectionism at the helm, we are never charting the waters on our terms. Remember that "good enough is good enough."

Despite what society tells us, sometimes self-care doesn't look like bubble baths and Netflix. Sometimes it looks like solitude, setting boundaries, and hard conversations. Self-preservation is just as much an important part of our self-care as anything else.

Making mistakes is the single most common denominator of humanity. It is how we learn, grow, and understand ourselves and our creativity, problem-solving, resilience, and abilities. Don't beat yourself up for making mistakes.

It's important to understand that goal progress happens when you are in full alignment with your values. Do you know your values? Have you taken a step back to figure the things out that matter to you the most? It will make such a difference in finding the motivation to keep working on those steps toward your goal.

Our emotions can be incredibly powerful tools that help us understand if we're headed down the right path. Sometimes they can steer us in a different direction than what we ever anticipated. It's important to take each emotion and process each one as a message, giving us signals about the journey we are on.
As we make progress, the underlying connection between our goals and our values should remain in tact. If feelings of resentment, guilt, and boredom creep in, what are those emotions trying to tell you? By having regular check-ins with your emotions on your path to goal achievement, it gives you and your nervous system a chance to read more deeply into the work you are doing.
Many times we can get feelings of fear and nervousness, but fear isn't always a bad thing. What is the root of that fear? Is it fear of failure? Fear of success? Fear of judgment? What about the fear of anticipating something exciting?
It's perfectly normal to have waves of emotions, and have different emotions at different times during your goal progress. I can feel both scared and excited, happy and nostalgic, worried and hopeful. And so can you. Stay curious. Listen.
Take each emotion and respond thoughtfully. They are trying to tell you something.

Keep this reminder in your mind when you inevitably fail at something. Failing is not the end of the road. It can be the beginning of a shift or pivot in a different direction.
