The GPA Exempt tile is now open in MyKaty Cloud for eligible students who wish to take approved elective courses without the course grade impacting their GPA.
To qualify, students must:
• Be in grades 10–12
• Have a minimum 4.0 GPA
• Meet all course prerequisites
• Be in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th consecutive year in the same program
• Maintain a passing average in the GPA-exempt course
• Submit an application through MyKaty Cloud and receive counselor approval
Students may earn up to three GPA-exempt credits during high school.
Application window:
• Opens: August 12, 2026
• Closes: September 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM

Please note that GPA-exempt courses still require successful completion and a passing average; the exemption only removes the course from GPA calculations.

JHS KAP Parent Night

Jordan High School KAP Parent Night Parents and guardians are invited to join Jordan High School staff and AP Ambassadors for an informative evening about succeeding in Katy Advanced Program (KAP) and early AP courses and other advanced academic opportunities. Wednesday, September 2 6:30–7:30 p.m. Jordan High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) Learn what students can expect from advanced coursework, explore helpful school and district resources, and hear practical advice and firsthand experiences from our teachers and student AP Ambassadors. We will also discuss mentoring opportunities and ways families can support students as they strengthen their critical-thinking, problem-solving, self-advocacy, and time-management skills. The evening will conclude with a general question-and-answer session. We hope you’ll join us!
