Southdown went all out to celebrate Constitution Week! Our amazing cafeteria team showed their patriotic spirit by dressing up, decorating the cafeteria, and creating a fun and engaging experience for our students.

Students enjoyed learning fun facts about the U.S. Constitution and even had the opportunity to participate in a student vote on a menu item. What a great way to connect good nutrition, school meals, and civic learning.

Third Opportunity to Purchase Surplus School Property

The Terrebonne Parish School Board is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of surplus school property.

This is the third effort to sell the property in accordance with La. R.S. 41:892 (E)(3). Unlike other bidding processes of the School Board, submission of a bid for this property confers no right upon the bidder for its bid to be accepted, and the Terrebonne School Board has no obligation to accept the highest bid or any bid received.

Property: Former Dularge School/1327 Bayou Dularge Road (Hwy. 315), Theriot, LA 70397
Bid Deadline: October 16, 2026 at 9:00 AM CST
Bid Opening: 340 St. Charles Street, Bldg. #3, Houma, LA 70360

Congratulations to Trista Folse — Outstanding Scholar of the Month!

Terrebonne Parish School District proudly congratulates Trista Folse of H. L. Bourgeois High School on being selected as an Outstanding Scholar of the Month for September 2026!

The Outstanding Scholar of the Month program was created by Terrebonne General Health System (TGHS) to recognize and celebrate outstanding local students for their accomplishments, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

Trista was nominated for this special honor and recently recognized as the Outstanding Scholar of the Month. She will be celebrated throughout the month of September through several local media outlets, including:

* The Houma Courier/Daily Comet and The Times
* Friday Game Day Radio on Rock 97.7 FM in Houma
* HTV-10 KFOL
* TPCG Channels — Comcast 22, U-Verse 99 and Charter 199

As part of her recognition, Trista received:

* $100 gift card from Copeland’s of New Orleans (Houma, LA)
