Congratulations to Terez LeBlanc, Principal of Houma Jr. High School in Terrebonne Parish School District, for being named a finalist for the 2027 Louisiana Principal of the Year by the Louisiana Department of Education during the Teacher Leader Conference in New Orleans!
Mrs. LeBlanc, who is completing her second year as principal at Houma Junior High, has already made a tremendous impact on the school community. Under her leadership, Houma Junior High saw a 2.3-point increase in its School Performance Score during her first year as principal — a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and high expectations she brings to students and staff each day.
A longtime educational leader in Terrebonne Parish, Mrs. LeBlanc was first recognized earlier this year as Terrebonne Parish’s Middle School Principal of the Year before advancing to the state level competition.
The Louisiana Principal of the Year program recognizes school leaders across the state who demonstrate exceptional leadership, student achievement gains, and a commitment to excellence in education.
Congratulations again to Mrs. LeBlanc and the entire Houma Junior High family on this outstanding achievement!
