Heartbreaking news about our dear friend and classmate Jeanette Babcock Easterbrooks. Her daughter posted this today.. "my mom suffered from sudden cardiac arrest early Friday morning, with love and luck she was with loved ones when this happened, her handsome boyfriend Joe Trombley and his family. They acted quickly, began CPR and called 911. She was treated by EMS, brought to soldiers and sailors by ambulance, once stable enough for transport she was airlifted to Strong only a few hours later.
Once at Strong, things moved quickly from Critical Care ED, Cardiac Cath lab and finally to the Cardiac ICUwhere she has been since Friday afternoon. She has been sedated, intubated, countless tests, results, labs, continuous monitoring, followed by respiratory, cardio and neuro teams as well as the amazing and tireless nurses working with her closely around the clock.
At 5pm on New Years Eve we were given the latest results from a test we were waiting on due to the complexity of her conditioned. They are in agreement in the findings and broke the news to our family. If she were to wake up, she wouldn’t be in a state of mind she’d want in life. I knew what they had to say before it was said but it still feels like a nightmare.
They allowed me to spend the night with her, I held her hand, called my amazing, loving supportive and understanding husband Cody Reid and her handsome fella Joe so we could ring in the new year together. No big changes overnight, but feel free to continue to send all your love, prayers, positive vibes and thoughts.
My mom was the glue that hold my family together and always told me I was her rock, doing my best to be her and my families rock and now the glue as well.
I take comfort in the fact we shared Christmas Day together and the photo is from that day with all of her stockings and that smile will continue to keep me going.
Please feel free to share here your favorite photos of or with my mom, favorite memories, moments you’ve shared. Jeanette would love that, my mom would want us to share stories, smiles and laughs. I know she can hear me and the people who visit and call to talk to her. We love you all!" I will update everyone as soon as I hear..

We have decided that the weekend of July 24th and 25th of the upcoming year would be best. Not sure if we will plan events on one night or both nights and your input would be greatly appreciated! We are starting to reach out to each and every classmate that we can find to let them know of the dates! Talk to you soon!

It's with a heavy heart that I share that our friend and classmate Rhonda Bostic (married name Randall) has passed away. I was able to talk to Rhonda every once an a while around town and was always fun to talk to. I last saw her earlier this year at Wegmans and she was on oxygen. I remember she fought Randy Warren behind the old Steuben Trust back in high school and she ripped a clump of his hair out. Any other memories that you have of Rhonda please share. Here is the link to her obit: https://www.dagonfuneralhome.com/?p=7076

Our friend and classmate Joe Haynes has passed away. I always remember his kind and gentle way.

JOSEPH CHARLES HAYNES
Joseph β€œJoey” Charles Haynes of North Hornell, was born at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, NY on October 12, 1968. Joe passed away on March 18, 2024. Joe grew up in Genesee, PA with his eight siblings before moving to Hornell where he met his wife of 37 years, Lindsay (Spike) Haynes. Joe and Lindsay were married on August 16, 1986. Joe graduated from the Hornell High School and served in the Navy from 1987-1991. During that time, Joe and Lindsay had two children, Jolynne (Thomas Burritt) and Justin (Emily Haynes).

Joe was a hard working man, dedicated to providing all he could for his family. He worked many jobs over the years but spent many years as an air conditioning technician at Transit Air. As a father, he coached baseball for many years. Joe never missed an event for his children, from cheerleading competitions to football games and more. He was the definition of an ideal husband and father. Joe seamlessly transitioned into β€œPop-Pop”, with unparalleled love and devotion to his eight grandchildren; Jack, Sarah, Henry, Benjamin, Ellie, William, John, and Max. He enjoyed tinkering on projects and was an avid Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox fan. In 2007, Joe had a series of strokes that left him disabled. Thanks to his amazing, strong, and loving wife he was able to live at home and continue his incredible life surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by his red handkerchiefs, jelly beans and gum, cheesy dad jokes, Seinfeld quotes, and his spoiled little dogs, Charlie and Daisy.

Joe was predeceased by his father and mother, Roger and Sylvia Haynes, and his brother, William β€œBill” Haynes. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Mike (Dee) Haynes and Steve (Phyllis) Haynes, his five sisters Dawn (Brian McGregor) Haynes, Mary (Doug) Mills, Patty (Dan) Larson, Sylvia James, and Robin (Skip) Loucks, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at Brown and Powers Funeral Home at 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell on Friday March 22, 2024 from 4pm - 6pm, with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would invite you to donate to the Hornell Humane Society.
