I announce my resignation as a member of the CCPS School Board, effective immediately.
I have been a member of this board for nearly twelve years, while also serving on committees, PTOs, and boards that have partnered with CCPS for more than thirty years. Needless to say, I love Christian County, and I love CCPS. Thank you to the citizens of Christian County for your support and prayers. I am making this decision for personal reasons.
First, I would like to give praise to my Lord and Savior for His strength and guidance over the years. I would also like to thank my family, especially my wife, Carla, for their support, patience, prayers, and sacrifices.
I appreciate the past board members with whom I have served, and I truly cannot say enough about the current board members. You are like family to me, and I know you are focused on what is best for our students.
I would especially like to thank our vice chair, Mr. Clark. We joined the board together, and we both wanted what was best for this district. You have, and always will have, my utmost respect.
I am grateful for our past superintendents, as well as our current and former administrators, teachers, faculty, Mr. Lackey, and Karen Edwards.
Mr. Bentzel, you are the one and only superintendent hiring decision I have made as a board member. I can confidently say, sir, that I got it right. Thank you for staying focused on what is best for all kids.
My mother always told me it was about getting the work done. My father always said it is not about what people call you or say about you.
My motto is, and always will be, Kids First. I promise you will see me around.
Be blessed.
