🚨 Lifeguards Needed – Minnesota Open Water State Championship 🚨

We’re looking for certified lifeguards to help support the Minnesota Open Water State Championships at Square Lake in Stillwater on Wednesday, August 12.

🛶 Kayak safety coverage
⏰ Approximately 6:40 AM – 11:15 AM
💵 Stipend provided
🌊 Waterfront/open water experience helpful, but not required

We’re also exploring a short open water clinic the evening before (Tuesday, Aug. 11).

If you’re a lifeguard — or know someone who is — we’d appreciate you sharing this with them. College swimmers home for the summer, former swimmers, and waterfront guards are all encouraged to sign up.

The Orders of Events (OOE) and meet formats for all MNSI Long Course Championship Meets are now finalized and available on the MNSI website.

📅 Meet Information and event files will be finalized by mid-May.

Important reminders:
✅ 50’s of stroke added to MRC & Senior State
✅ 10 & Under Championship will have one 8 & Under session and one 9–10 session
✅ Mixed relays return for 10 & Under State
✅ WISI for 400M+ events requires achieving a Silver time at MRC

MN Swimming offered a *FREE* Spring Workshop on Saturday, April 18 from 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM at the University of St. Catherine featuring:

- 2x Olympian, World Championship silver medalist, and multi-time NCAA Champion Phoebe Bacon
- University of Tennessee collegiate swimmer Grayson Nye
- Clinical Psychologist specializing in sports psychology Dr. Megan Cannon

The workshop was open to coaches, officials, athletes ages 14 and older, and their parents or guardians.

HOD and Workshop tomorrow Saturday, April 18 Location

The HOD and workshop are at St. Catherine University, 2004 Randolph Ave, St. Paul, MN 55105. The recommended parking lots are Mendel, Frey or the Guest parking lot. A campus map is provided. The closest entrance to Mendel Hall is Gate 3, off of Randolph Avenue.

HOD Schedule

HOD will start at 12:00 pm and will be in Mendel Hall, Room 101. Please try to arrive 15 mins early to get checked in!

Workshop Schedule

There is an athlete track and a track for parents/guardians, coaches and officials. Each track has two sessions. The first session begins at 2:45 and ends at 4:15pm. The second session begins at 4:30pm and concludes at 6:00pm.

Athlete sessions will be in Mendel Hall, Room 106.

Parents/guardians, coaches and officials will be in Mendel Hall, Room 101.
