TO MY FACEBOOK FAMILY & FRIENDS, There's nothing New Under the Sun, Today's key word is'' Generational Trends'. BACK IN THE DAY generational trends in the African American Community included Dress for Males i.e. plat form shoes, converse all star gym shoes, maze and bell bottom pants, knit shirts,pressed jeans or khaki's gators dress shoes, Formal Wear- 3 piece suits fresh hair cut. Dress for Females included umpire dresses, full range of accessories i.e purses, ankle chains hats, gloves, stockings, blouses and skirts, Formal Wear- fitted dresses or suits , heels and wonderful smelling perfume and some make-up products. Our Community took pride in its Dress and Grooming ! Our Children and Grand Children have a different"Generational Trend " their form of Dress is Unisex where sometimes you cannot distinguish the Male from the Female, this clothing consist largely of blue jeans, tee shirts, leisure wear i.e. sweat pants Jersey's and designer jackets.Tattoos are the norm for both Genders and the Sagging Pants and Elaborate Hair Styles and Cuts are Eye Opening. This Observation is not to beat up Anyone , the Goal is to look @ our Dress and make sure we are Clean and presentable for the setting or activity we are attending,we should never come out in Public Exposing Ourselves or Offending someone with Poor Hygiene and maintain Self Dignity to be Well Groomed presentable and Appropriately Dressed even if the Basketball Jersey cost $400 it's Inappropriate at a Funeral, We must Do as the old saying goes "DRESS TO IMPRESS" OURSELVES ! peace & love Dr. AJM
