Tons of fun this last Saturday for our penguin day! Lottie the penguin was just as curious and excited as all the children present who got to learn all about how rangers use their expertise to protect penguins. Thanks for coming out, friends 🐧

As we've been posting about here, RRP, the city of Pittsburgh, and The Benter Foundation have started a huge effort to reenergize DPIL enrollment for children in the city limits. This includes a canvassing campaign, postcards being sent out, and - of course - yard signs! We have a number of them here at the bookstore and will be ordering more. Want one for your yard? Just pop in when we're open and we'll give you one. Hope to start seeing these around town soon 📕

🚨 Cool event alert 🚨

On Saturday, July 11, the National Aviary will be at B is for Books with a REAL-LIFE PENGUIN! From the Aviary: "Penguin Rangers in South Africa need your help to become Special Agents of Penguin protection! During this program, students will investigate penguin adaptations while learning how rangers use their expertise to protect penguins. This program includes a visit from an African Penguin Animal Ambassador."

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. We can only host 35 children total. Please use the QR code sign up or the link in our bio.

PLEASE ONLY REGISTER IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN ATTEND. We want to make sure that no spaces are wasted.
