Looking for something to get into this coming weekend? Reading Ready Pittsburgh and our local libraries will be doing a summer reading kickoff on Saturday, June 6, from 12 to 3 pm down at the Waterfront Town Center (the park beside the Starbucks -- 270 West Bridge Street, Homestead, PA). Come on out for lots of fun and festivities and meet your local library reps!

Did you know Reading Ready Pittsburgh, beyond operating B is for Books, does TONS of other stuff in the Mon Valley and city of Pittsburgh? One super cool thing is that we made 20 literacy-focused public service announcement posters featuring local families. Imagine the "Got Milk?" campaign but with kids, their families, and books instead! Here's 8 of them for you to see. We hang them up anywhere we can -- libraries, schools, government offices, laundromats, salons... you name it! Would you like to help us find even more homes for these? Let us know! We'll ship you a couple or you can grab some next time you're at the store 💫

You should know about our next event! Children's author Karen Lynn Williams will be coming to B is for Books on Saturday, June 13, to read her book A Beach Tail. Join Greg and his father on their quiet journey to the beach. There will be snacks, an activity, and free, brand new, signed copies of the books being given away. The storytime begins promptly at 11:30 am, so show up a little early to get a good seat!

The Bridging the Gap workshop scheduled for tonight has been postponed. Thank you!

Baby Book Club is OFF THE CHAIN. So, so, so much fun. Just look! Be sure to check out the next one. Every first and third Thursday of the month, 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

Our summer reading program, Read with Me, is underway. Look at all these brand new books that will be distributed this year. Over 750 kids will receive a new book every week for 7 weeks throughout the summer. Whoa.

Finally, B is for Bikes is tomorrow! Hope to see ya.

Don't forget this is happening Saturday:

May 23rd is B is for Bikes day! Come to the store to hear a storytime of Duck on a Bike at 11:30 am. Kids will follow Duck on his biking adventure through the farm and receive their very own copy afterwards! We'll also have some free BikePGH giveaways at the store while supplies last. These items include helmets, lights, and maps.
