I have filed my candidacy for the Holt Public Schools Board of Education. My petition has been accepted, and I will be on the ballot for the November 2026 election!

I am truly grateful for the outpouring of support, the kind words, and the meaningful conversations we have had so far.

As a resident, parent, and educator, I believe deeply in the power of a strong public education system. Our schools are the heart of our community, and ensuring the success, well-being, and growth of every single student is my top priority.

My approach to leadership is rooted in being collaborative, deliberate, and strategic. I am running to serve as a champion for student success, to support our dedicated educators and staff, and to ensure our schools remain a place where every child can thrive.

This journey is not just about a seat on the board; it is about partnering with you to build a bright future for our district.

I am excited to officially announce my candidacy for the Holt Public Schools Board of Education!

Rather than simply filing a fee, I have chosen to secure signatures from our community to qualify for the ballot. To me, this role is first and foremost about accountability to the voters. I am looking forward to connecting with neighbors and friends between now and the deadline to hear what matters most to you.

A bit about me: I am a husband, a parent, and an educational leader. I also believe strong schools are the heart of a thriving community. I am running to be a bridge between families, educators, and administrators. Together we can build a district that prioritizes authentic connections and a future where every student feels seen and supported.

My approach is rooted in stewardship and listening. I want to contribute to a future where HPS is defined by its shared vision and student success.

I am Dr. Ken W. Horne, Jr., and I am excited to share that I am running for a seat on the Holt Public Schools Board of Education.

As a parent with children in the district and a lifelong advocate for education, I believe our schools are the heart of our community. My professional journey in higher education has taught me the power of strategic leadership and student-centered decision-making. My personal journey as a Holt community member has shown me the incredible dedication of our teachers and the unlimited potential of our students.

I am running because I believe in:

✅ Student Success: Championing academic excellence and well-being for every student, from preschool through high school graduation.
