Well, this was a fun surprise! 😊 This past weekend, a local Lansing-area content creator stopped by the farmstand and shared his experience with his TikTok followers. I actually didn’t meet him or even know who he was at the time. I found out afterward when I saw that he had shared The Rusty Rake Homestead with his followers!

He’s a local social media creator who is also connected with the Lansing Lugnuts, so it was pretty cool to discover that our little farmstand caught his attention. ❤️

I’ll share a video in the comments of a local news interview with him and David Andrews, where he talks about his own weight-loss journey and his passion for helping break the stigma surrounding obesity. I enjoyed learning a little more about him after the fact!

You just never know who might stop by the farmstand! 🌻🥚🍪

✨ THE FARMSTAND IS GETTING A BIG WEEKEND RESTOCK! ✨

We’re filling those shelves back up with some of your favorite Rusty Rake Homestead goodies, plus TWO brand new cookies making their debut this weekend! 🍎

🍎 NEW Apple Pie Cookie
🎃 NEW Pumpkin Pie Cookie
Both are soft, delicious cookies topped with streusel and finished with a cinnamon glaze. They’re basically fall pie in cookie form!

And because you’ve been asking for them…

🍓 Homemade Strawberry Jam is being restocked!

🔥 BAR FIGHT JAM is BACK!
Blueberries + blackberries + powdered jalapeño + bourbon extract make this one seriously special. It’s fantastic on a charcuterie board, spooned over warm melted Brie, or served alongside appetizers. If you’re hosting a football game, gathering, or getting ready for the holidays, this is one you’re going to want sitting in your fridge. It also makes a pretty amazing little hostess gift!

🌿 WHIPPED TALLOW is being restocked too!
Made with organic grass-fed tallow, castor oil and frankincense oil. It’s a rich, nourishing moisturizer that can be used as a face cream, body moisturizer, or anywhere your skin needs a little extra love.

And at just $15 a jar, it’s one of those little luxuries that won’t break the bank.

💋 Tallow Lip Balm is coming back too!
Made with tallow, peppermint essential oil and Manuka honey. It goes on smooth and leaves your lips feeling soft and moisturized.

PLUS all of our other farmstand favorites will be restocked and ready for the weekend!

If you’ve been waiting for something, this is the weekend to stop by. There’s a whole lot going back onto those shelves, and I have a feeling some of these goodies won’t last long!

P.S.
We will also have Big Deb oatmeal cream pie cookies, Deborah after Dark & Cosmic Brownies for a 2nd weekend!

🍎🍂 WELL, LOOK WHO JUST SHOWED UP AT THE RUSTY RAKE HOMESTEAD… FALL! 🍂🍎

We’re bringing ALL the cozy fall vibes to the farmstand this weekend, and we’ve got some fun new things making their FIRST APPEARANCE!

🍎 APPLE PIE COOKIES
with a buttery streusel topping & cinnamon glaze

🥧 PUMPKIN PIE COOKIES
also topped with streusel & glaze because apparently we don’t know how to do fall halfway! 😂

And YES, we’re bringing back a couple of your favorites…

🤎 BIG DEB OATMEAL CREAM PIES
🍫 DEB AFTER DARK
💫COSMIC BROWNIES

BUT WAIT… THERE’S MORE! 👀

We’ve been working on something special for the kiddos!

Starting this weekend, kids 12 and under can get a FREE Rusty Rake Homestead coloring page with a purchase, featuring our actual little farmstand! And because coloring without crayons is basically just a really good piece of paper…

🖍️ They’re getting a little 4-crayon packet to take with them, too!

And here’s another little surprise…

⭐ FREE RUSTY RAKE HOMESTEAD STICKERS!

So if you’re out and about, come make The Rusty Rake Homestead one of your stops!

You don’t need a special reason.

Come grab a cookie.
Come grab some eggs.
Come grab a brownie.
Come get a sticker.
Bring the kids and let them color.
Or just come say hi. ❤️

We’re going to be right here, open and ready for you!

There’s something pretty neat about blue eggs… they aren’t all the same blue! 💙🥚🩵

I put three very different blue eggs together today, and I thought it was fun to see the difference.

🥚 Far left: This one is actually from one of my Coturnix quail. She’s just started laying, and this is an extra large egg. I have a feeling this one may be a double yolker! It’s definitely bigger than a typical quail egg.

🥚 Middle: This is from Charlene, one of my new Cream Legbar layers. Her egg looks almost gray compared to the other two, but it really is a beautiful pale blue.

🥚 Far right: This one is from one of my Whiting True Blue pullets. I don’t know which girl laid it yet, but it’s a beautiful blue. It’s actually a little bluer in person than the photo shows.

And notice the size difference! The two chicken eggs are still smaller because they’re pullet eggs, while that little quail egg is an absolute giant for a quail egg.

Three eggs. Three different shades of blue. Nature really does have a pretty amazing paint palette. 💙🩵
