Most people assume it's because they're dehydrated—but the science is more interesting than that.

THC interacts with CB1 receptors in the salivary glands, temporarily reducing saliva production. That dry, sticky feeling is called xerostomia, and while staying hydrated is always a good idea, cottonmouth itself isn't simply the same thing as dehydration.

As an Army brat, I grew up learning that service, sacrifice, and resilience weren't just words—they were part of everyday life. Watching my family serve this country gave me a deep appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy and the people who dedicate their lives to protecting them.

Today, I'm proud to celebrate America's 250th birthday with gratitude for those who came before us, those who continue to serve, and the communities that make this country home.

Whether you're spending the day with family, watching fireworks, grilling with friends, or simply taking a well-deserved break, I hope you have a safe and memorable Fourth of July.
