Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter's Grandson Offers Update on Their Health: ‘We’re in the Final Chapter’ (Exclusive) Josh Carter tells PEOPLE that while it's 'different' visiting grandparents Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter's home now that they've grown a bit quieter, 'they are still here, they are still holding hands and still very much together'
I really wish all of you could have been there. Because it was the most amazing thing to be a part of. For me it was greater than when I did work helping people during hurricane Ivan. You knew you were part of something great. And at that time, we were so separated like today. Gay men, le****ns. people of color and whites all marched as one big family that gained power from knowing together, we will defend our civil rights and inure that those who came after us would do better. We just didn't realize that the GLTBQ community would surpass our expectations as great as they (you) have. I know for a fact that when same-sex marriage law was passed many people from that era cried. (including myself) But I think the most important thing that was done, is that every time our community succeeds now, you tell all of us who fought during the Stonewall era, "it was worth it." And for that we thank you.

I have recently joined a support group for transgender people. When I tell them I am stonewall alumni they ask were there any transgender people involved, If they know the stroy they will remember that Marsha Johnson and Sylvia Rivera where said to be the two transvestits who thre the first punch, But the truth is that they were both transgender in thier mind, It's just that having surgery was not availabe then So they lived as women

I think that this page being called Transgender empowerment is so fitting since the fact that my transgender brothers and sisters courage and beauty is empowering the entire GLTB community. When I marched for gay rights in the 70’s after the Stonewall riot we needed leaders to be brave because that is what empowered us to keep up our motto which was, “No” is not an option. So now I always make it clear that I fully support al my sisters and brothers (including Transgender) in everything they do because your success tell all of us who fought back that it was worth it. And for that we are thankful

Today I celebrate all the thing the GLBT community has done since the Stonewall riot
The Gay Activist Alliance. (GAA) was formed after the gay uprising at the Stonewall bar in New York. Because the other organizations were to polite in asking for our rights, GAA sew a need for a militant end of the revolution. Unlike Martin Luther King, if you hit us we’re hitting back. We didn’t start a fight but when a hundred people are at your door, you better say the right answer.
Unfortunately, our gay history was written by bigoted gay men. The proof is that they never mention Jean O’Leary, one of the people that started GAA. She was a nun at first until she realized she was a le***an and a stanch feminist. Or any other brave women who not only fought they led.
The reason I created this page is for you to learn about your amazing history and all the heroes who gave their all just to carry that flame from Stonewall and hand it to you.
All the members and I think that the community has gone over our expectations.
Let’s talk.

I remember this day.. It was when we were marching against police coming into our public gatherings, After that when we got to the Mayors mansion a fight happen, Next day the initiative was passed, As always we won because we held onto the moto- "NO is not an option.
just imagine over 1000 gay men and le****ns marching to a law makers door. with the matto "NO" is not an answer
