GGH Morowitz recently quantified the potential impact of sports wagering for the gaming industry in New Jersey. While this is a great opportunity, impacts will be very much dependent upon state regulation, taxation, league integrity fees etc. sports wagering is a low margin business. The winners in this might end up being the sports leagues themselves. Casinos will be looking to leverage sports wagering to drive traffic and generate spinoff revenues. Interesting times ahead.
Supreme Court Rules States Are Free To Legalize Sports Betting "Congress can regulate sports gambling directly," the court wrote in a decision released Monday, "but if it elects not to do so, each state is free to act on its own."
